Pamela Denise Whitson age 54, of Columbus, Ohio gained her wings May 10, 2024. Known as “Pam” to some or “Mom” to many. She was born June 6, 1969 to mother, Arnell Whitson. She Attended Beechcroft High School.

Pamela married her then best friend, Catherine Jackson June 6, 2001. The two of them moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, then after a short while of living under the sun they relocated back to Columbus, Ohio to be closer to family. As a member of the LGBTQ Community, she never knew a stranger. There wasn’t a person who couldn’t have her ear and wouldn’t leave without a smile.

Kind, witty and charismatic, her home was filled with unadulterated laughter. Pamela was an author and a poet. While still in high school, she published her first poem “False Smiles”. Later on as an adult, she would go on to write her first book. Before committing to becoming a stay-at-home mother, she attended Roadmaster Truck Driving School, worked at Pizza Hut and worked in her cousin Karen Whitson’s restaurant “Bread and Better”(BEST ROLLS IN THE WORLD!!!!!) along with other numerous odd jobs to pass the time. She also attended The Ohio Media School. This was where she began having issues with her health but with perseverance and the support of her family she graduated.

Pamela is preceded in death by her mother, Arnell Whitson; father-in-law, Ray Jackson; sisters, Teresa Washington and Aretha Washington.

Pamela is survived by her spouse, Catherine Jackson; daughter, Charnell Whitson; grandson, mother-in-law, Cheryl Jackson; Zain Whitson; sisters, Barbara Etgen (John), Vanessa Washington, Trenca Jackson, Lisa Wyche and Michelle Kirk; brothers, Charles Washington Jr., Jeffery Washington and Ernest Washington; special aunts, Midred Brewer, Ollie Miller, Lucille Maple and Mary Mcknight and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Carmen Prater, Beth Davis (Marty), Mercedes Boetticher (Aaron) and Raven Bruner.

The family would like to thank everyone for their calls and messages sharing their condolences and love.
