In Color Inspiration Week Starts May 23! I've been working on my In Color Club cards…oh what fun! Not only do the cards feature the new In Colors, but they also show lots of fresh and fun color combinations to try with other colors from the Core Color Collections! Cheerful Daisies Moody Mauve Birthday Card
Today's card features the new Moody Mauve In Color from my Cheerful Daisies class! I love how well Bubble Bath goes with this color, and Wild Wheat makes a lovely accent!
Background Basics—I started by stamping the large solid Cheerful Daisies image in Bubble Bath ink onto a 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped it all over the piece, careful to position one of the images so that it would be shown nicely in the top right above the sentiment. The flower centers were stamped in Moody Mauve, stamped off once for a lighter version. I layered this piece onto a 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Bubble Bath, then mounted it onto a Moody Mauve card base. I also added a 2" x 4" panel of the Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper along the left side.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped a Cheerful Daisies sentiment in Moody Mauve ink onto a Bubble Bath die-cut label, cut from the coordinating Cheerful Daisies Dies. I adhered a 5-1/4" x 1/2" strip of Wild Wheat cardstock across the lower half of the card where I wanted the sentiment to go. Then, I added a little SEAL Adhesive to the strip where I wanted to attach a piece of Moody Mauve Textured Ribbon. I popped the sentiment up over the ribbon with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I finished by adding two sizes of Moody Mauve In Color Dots next to the sentiment. The perfect touch!
Cheerful Daisies Moody Mauve Birthday Swap Card
Ruth Bingle sent me this pretty Moody Mauve swap card featuring a completely different way to decorate the card with the Cheerful Daisies Bundle.
Background Basics—Ruth's card is a fun Z-Fold! The Moody Mauve card base is 11" x 4-1/4", scored at the 2-1/4" and 5-1/2" marks and accordion folded. She adhered a 1-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Fresh As A Daisy DSP on the card front next to the fold.
Front Focal Point—Ruth die-cut a Basic White trio of flowers with the Cheerful Daisies Dies, then used Sponge Daubers to add some color. She sponged on some Bubble Bath ink onto the petals and some Parakeet Party ink onto the leaves. She finished by adding a dab of Moody Mauve color to the flower centers. The flowers were adhered to a 3-1/2" x 3" piece of Moody Mauve with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. That was layered onto a 3-3/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Bubble Bath, then mounted onto a 4" x 3-1/2" piece of Basic White. The whole thing was mounted onto the front Z-fold of the card.
Sweet Sentiment—She stamped the Basic White Cheerful Daisies label die-cut with Moody Mauve ink and popped it up onto the card front.
Finishing Touches—Ruth tied some Moody Mauve Textured Ribbon around the card front and sprinkled a few Iridescent Rhinestones around the flowers to finish it off.
Inside The Card—The love the way this type of Z-Fold keeps the sentiment hidden until the card is pulled open. She stamped another Cheerful Daisies greeting on the inside in Moody Mauve ink.
