Australian photographer Lachlan Bailey has shot and filmed Margaret Qualley for the Chanel Coco Beach 2022 collection campaign. The collection is available from mid-June in select Chanel boutiques.

Shot by the Mediterranean, the campaign highlights the effortlessness and simplicity of summer and swimming. The wardrobe is fittingly Chanel: a pink and coral shirt jacket and wrap skirt; a one-piece swimsuit laced up with pearls; an ecru top with flounces; tweed trousers in black with white trim; and a large, black satin bag with grosgrain ribbon.

Qualley said in a release, ‘To me, this collection is so fun because it represents summer, vacation and freedom. The pieces in this collection are at once fantastically luxurious and easy going, a seemingly impossible feat, but not in the hands of Virginie Viard!’

She added, ‘This shoot was so fun for me. For the last shot, Lachlan Bailey wanted me to jump in the very cold water. It woke me right up! It was one of the prettiest places I’ve ever seen.’

The Coco Beach line was first released in 2018 by Karl Lagerfeld as a tribute to Gabrielle Chanel’s love of the sun, sea and outdoors, says Chanel.
