we need more griselda on this blog (4/03/2021)

i wasn't sure who Julia Lang was before she showed up in the music video for Westside Gunn's song "Julia Lang". That's a flex for him. Gunn recently dropped that track and "TV BOY" the other day, both of which are said to be from his next mixtape, Sincerely Adolf (#HWH8). no word on that project's release date aside from "Coming Soon".

check out the full video for "Julia Lang," featuring Julia Lang (who i'm not sure is even a fan of the song), below.

Westside Gunn Is Coming Off The Top Rope, "Finn Balor"

You ever been making a mix(tape) and wanted to slow the vibe down a mite, but couldn't find the track to do it? Westside Gunn's latest might be that one. Similar to how Ghostface can take a hypnotic, throwback loop and do a thug's waltz to it, Gunn comes off the top rope (similar to WWE superstar Finn Balor) on the Green Lantern-produced track. This isn't an elegant swan dive; Gunn's brutalizing the beat, stomping on top of it on some precision missile shit.

The best part? It's available for free. Enjoy that.

Sonnyjim ft. Westside Gunn - "Red Mullet"

Dirty elegance; that's what this track feels like. The throwback, '70s soundtrack feel of the instrumental is perfect for the tales weaved. I know a bunch of people are digging Sonnyjim's new track with Heems, but I'll wake up and get my life right to "Red Mullet" every day.

Sonnyjim's Mud In My Malbac drops June 24. Pre-order today.

This is EXACTLY what I need for the fall. Something about those dusty samples (that remind me of Wu-Tang's "Tearz"). Taken from Apollo Brown's Grandeur (which drops on September 25), this one has me super open.
