2025 Cadillac OPTIQ

The 2025 Cadillac Optiq is an all-new, all-electric compact luxury SUV. We expect pricing to start at around $45,000.

There’s the larger Lyriq SUV, the even larger Escalade IQ, and the upcoming Celestiq ultra-luxurious car. And now this, the Optiq, the fourth all-electric vehicle from Cadillac. At the time of compiling this piece, the only information from the company was a set of photos. We’ll update this review when more facts come to light, but in the meantime, here’s some educated guesswork.

This is a compact SUV, and knowing how General Motors tends to work, let’s assume the Optiq shares a platform with the new-for-2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV. Following this template, the Optiq is likely to offer a single-motor/rear-wheel-drive setup with something in the neighborhood of 210 horsepower, or a dual-motor/all-wheel-drive configuration making closer to 290 horsepower. For comparison, the entry-level Audi Q4 e-tron has 201 horsepower, while the optional drivetrain enjoys 295 horsepower.

What Kind of Range Does the 2025 Cadillac Optiq Have?

If we take the Equinox EV as an indication, the Optiq may be capable of 250 miles or thereabouts. That’s similar to the Audi Q4 e-tron (265 miles) and Genesis GV60 (248 miles). However, Cadillac’s battery technology is quite impressive, so the Optiq may get closer to 300 miles. Charging the battery on a DC fast charger should be quick. The Equinox EV can take on 70 miles of range in 10 minutes.

On-Sale Date

The 2025 Cadillac Optiq will probably go on sale late in 2024 as a 2025 model.

We expect the 2025 Cadillac Optiq to start at around $45,000. That would make it competitive against rivals like the Audi Q4 e-tron and Tesla Model Y — both starting at about $50K. The Polestar 2 begins in the mid-to-high 50s, and the Genesis GV60 kicks off in the $60K region.
