How Teachers Spend Their Time: A Breakdown is a new article (and Instagram post below) from Education Week.

I think that’s close to the number of hours related to my specific classes that I’ve worked most of my career, but I’ve found that it’s not sustainable as I grow older (the hours I spend on writing are above and beyond that time, and that’s fine and on me).

This year, in particular, I’ve been able to create a little time during my classes to do some of the planning and grading work I have in the past done at home.  And, though I do open up my classroom at lunch time for students to “hang-out” and have space for our Muslim students to pray in one of my rooms (I have two adjoining ones), I spend less of that time interacting with students and more doing that planning and grading work.

Does that number reflect your experience?
