Strong Oak

 Strong Oak

I have been enjoying using lots of different stencils on my cards, tags and more.  I started out making these samples for Jen Rzasa #Altenewchallengelive ... Tuesday challenge for Altenew stamp company.  The thing with this challenge you can use any supplies you have on hand ... I just happen to have a good amount of Altenew products.  First up is shades of brown.

supplies used:  Altenew Stencil Art: strong oak stencil set, hello die set

Next up is a card and tag using the shades of purple.

supplies: Altenew Stencil Art: strong oak stencil set, Versatile greetings die set

I couldn't help myself making more and more of these cards using the same strong oak stencil set in different colors.  I kept going with different colors, so why not do green.  For the green and orange cards also used Halftone Hello stamp set plus Hello and Hugs stamp set.

One more set of two cards, and these are shades of orange.
What do you think ... did I use enough different "hello's" and colors to fit into the criterium for this challenge? This strong oak stencil set is going to be a favorite of mine.

stash.  I have mentioned this before ... my oldest son used to like lighthouses.  He had paintings and all in his house.

This card uses the same stamp set but arches dies by Unity stamp company.

Magnolia

 Magnolia

I'm having fun with Jen Rzasa ABC challenge this week.  Found more M things so I created more samples.

Starting with these two cards.  M is for Magnolia dreams (embossing folder-stencil set), (Delicate) Magnolia die set, Moth from Meadow Reflection stamp/die set.  Used the colors Magenta, Maroon and Marigold.  Mini brushes on the cards, and perfect pearls MIST on unfinished panels.

Mini blending brushes came into play blending Marigold ink on Magnolia die cut flower.  Ribbons are also Magenta and Maroon in color.  Mini brushes were also used to blend inks onto Magnolia embossing folder.

Here are a couple of panels that I plan on making into tags, and bookMARKS.

The Magic stamp is an old Impress company wood mounted stamp.  Also sprayed the panels with Perfect Pearl MISTS. They have a beautiful shine in person.

M is for Magnolia

 M is for Magnolia

The challenge from Jen at Altenew this week is ABC.  Another words pick a letter to use for your theme on card or project. I picked the letter M.  I used Magnolia flower dies, Moths from Meadow Reflections, Mango and Marigold color cardstock, and papers.  I also used mini blending brush to add color to the magnolia flower dies.

stamps/supplies used:  Altenew Delicate Magnolia die set, Meadow Reflections (moths) and mini blending brush, SU mango color papers/cardstock

This is called a Fan card.

basic instructions:

base - 7" x 10"  score at 5"

layer - 4 3/4" x 6 3/4"

1.  Use same color as the base card for 4" x 6" layer, and cut in half diagonally.

2.  Color layer cardstock 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".  Cut in half diagonally.

3.  Pattern paper 3" x 5".  Cut in half diagonally.

4.  Layer all layers from line #1 thru #3.  This will form bigger of the triangles that will be assembled on card.

5.  On 7" x 10" card score at 5".  On the 10" side of card measure 2", and cut diagonally to the bottom of card.  Fold at 5" score to form base card.

6.  On 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" card measure in 2 3/4" then cut diagonally down to bottom of card.  Cut off 1/4" of this triangle.

7.  On 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" card measure in 2 1/2" then cut diagonally down to bottom of card.  Cut off 1/2" of this triangle.

8.  Layer all of these layers from line #6 and #7.

9.  Assemble card with all the layers.  Add Magnolia flower on the bottom point of triangles.  Moths can be adhered on the top and bottom of card.  This makes a 5" x 7" card.
I will be entering this card in the #Altenewchallengelive.

Masculine cards

 Masculine cards

Here is the masculine card I made for my creative card crew in April 2025.

stamp/supplies:  car/saying by MFP stamp co., brown ribbon/embossing folder Stampin' Up, mesh unknown source

As you can see I stamped everything in a brown ink.  Colored in the lights with yellow prisma color pencil. The landscape version of the card was for my card crew.  The vertical version was just for fun.

Changed up the color of the car and saying on one of the cards to a dark brown, and other with a square version.

Die cut Inlay

 Die cut Inlay

I decided to do another challenge by Jen Rzasa from Altenew that she does on Tuesday.

stamps/supplies used:  Altenew Painted Butterflies & Bold sentiments

Jen used one of the cover dies but I don't have any cover dies from any company.  Needless to say I had to find another way to do an inlay technique.  I went to an old faithful creator, Jennifer McGuire.  She did this technique where you glue strips of cardstock to a layer.

Next you die cut out an image then layer a smaller image inside the cut out image.  Sometimes it works out (if you don't mess up) that you can get two for one.

one sheet wonder cards

 One sheet wonder cards

One sheet wonder cards are several cards you make from a template. This is the template I used for these one sheet wonder cards.

I made these cards for my local creative card group for March 2025.

stamps/supplies used:  DSP by Stampin' Up, saying by MFP stamp company

I chose this template because it made four cards so all I have to do for my creative card group was do it twice.  This way I would have eight cards, and that is more than I needed for my group.

Log cabin quilt cards

 Log cabin quilt cards

I'm still on a quilt card kick.

I bet you can tell which log cabin design I did first...it's not my favorite.  The white base card is my first one, and no, it is not my favorite.  But I do like my second card which is the pink base card.  I think it looks more like a log cabin quilt design.  The colors are more, shall I say structured in the positioning.  I think there will be more quilt cards in my future.  At least I'm using up a lot of pattern paper scraps, and all the 6 x 6 paper pack/pads I have on hand in my stash.

Altenew challenge #5 Washi tape

 Altenew challenge #5 Washi tape

Jen Rzasa, a designer from Altenew is doing a challenge every Tuesday.  This week the challenge is to use washi tape as the main part of your card or project.

I am obsessed right now with making quilt cards ... so ... I decided to try to make a quilt card using washi tape.  It worked, at least in my world it works.  The background strip is washi tape ... The quilt star is done with all different washi tapes. I ran it through my die cutting machine with an embossing folder for extra texture.  I like the way it came out.  You can see more quilt cards I made here.

Quilt cards

 Quilt cards

I just learned how to make quilt cards from Holly.  It was a fun class as you can see in this photo.

We made four cards in class then I came home, and the next day (Sunday) I made another four cards.
Then on Monday I made another five cards.

Holly said these quilt cards would be addictive ... and she was right. I just couldn't stop
making them!  That's a total of nine cards that I made on my own.  I'm guessing I will be making more but have to take a break from making quilt cards, because I need to finish getting ready for a crop I will be going to the first weekend in April.

Altenew Challenge - Bingo

 Altenew Challenge - Bingo

This week for the Altenew challenge with Jen; we are playing Bingo.  I picked the bingo line:  enamel dots - metallic - stencil - ink blending.  With these challenges there are a lot of creative license, another words I am using sparkle gems instead of enamel dots.

supplies used:  Altenew Stencil Art: nature splashes, metallic cardstock, sparkle metallic gems.  birthday die, and stamped happy (unknown company)

Here's a close up of both the cards ... yes, I did two cards mainly because I needed a couple of birthday cards this week.

This one is done with CP inks in blues, and greens ... I ink blended my favorite colors lately that I use. The sparkle gems on this card are silver ... wish they showed up better in this pic.  The die cut leaves are a beautiful shiny blue metallic.

The pinks, and oranges CP inks, that I ink blended are out of my comfort zone.  I'm not much of a bright color stamper.  The sparkle gems on this card are gold ... but again hard to see in pic.
The die cut leaves in this pink/orange card are a lovely shiny prisma metallic.  I had fun with this challenge.  Look forward to seeing what everyone else does.

Leaves and butterflies

 Leaves and butterflies

I am having fun with Altenew challenge live.  This is challenge #2.  Need flying insect and leaves on card/project.

supplies used:  Altenew Meadow Reflections stamp set, Remember This stamp set.  Unity leaf stencil

I placed Unity leaf stencil on a white panel, then blended color in it. Then I stamped the leaves from Altenew Remember This stamp set, then butterfly from Altenew Meadow Reflections stamp set.

The sayings are also from Meadow Reflections stamp set.  I used CP inks to blend colors inside the leaf stencil.

As you can see in the photo I did a set of four cards.

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back soon.
