55 Chicago schools report no students proficient in math or reading
Illinois state Sen. Willie Preston joins “Fox & Friends First” to discuss his concern surrounding the learning loss and how lawmakers and parents can act to counter the trend.
Parents nationwide are still battling the impact of stringent school closures and lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Chicago families are no exception.
An alarming report has revealed that dozens of Chicago schools claim no students are proficient in either math or reading despite the state and federal government funneling billions of dollars into education in the Windy City.
Illinois state Sen. Willie Preston, a Democrat and a father of six, joined “Fox & Friends First” to discuss the report and how parents and lawmakers in the city can help children excel in the classroom post-pandemic.
“Government isn’t the anthem for all things,” Preston told Griff Jenkins. “I think that we have to reengage parents, have parents actively take a role inside the schools when they can be, but in addition, we need to make certain that we … spend our money in the right way as it pertains to our children’s education.”
Wirepoints released the findings that stem from 2022 data from the Illinois Department of Education, which indicated that in 55 Chicago public schools, no students were reported proficient in either math or reading.

1 year agoLet’s go back in time to the time of FDR. He had a close relationship with Stalin of Russia/USSR and FDR’s wife Eleanor wanted to bring the Soviet Educational System into the U.S. So collectively they were the best of friends with Socialism/Communism. It has been 78 years since then. The rest is present day history with our educational system. I would not be surprised to eventually see, if not already happening, students or parents paying teachers to pass their students just like then.

1 year agoI can;t blame Democrats. Blacks are simply stupid. No amount of or assistance can ever change that genetic fact. It really is abuse to force blocks to achieve any measure of standards set by and for white children. That is the fact and no one can change it. Now, the Democratic solution is to reduce all to the level of blacks. Equity is they call this new paradigm. It will fail as well because Democrats are inherently stupid people as well. even the ones with room temperature IQs are ideologues who cannot see or understand reality.

1 year agoI have an idea – inflate the grades of all the failing students who don’t meet standards, so that they pass on paper. Surely, that will solve the problem, right?

1 year ago‘Chicago’s mayor and aldermen agree that written tests related to job qualifications such as command of basic English communication skills, reading comprehension, math skills, background checks and mental evaluations discriminate against black people.
The proof of that, they say, is the fact that black people fail so many of them so often.’
Chicago was much safer and had a school system nationally recognized as “Superior” when Al Capone ran the city.
