Sowing Chaos On Our Streets: Soros DA Dismissed Michigan State Shooter’s Prior Felony Gun Charge

11

Last Monday, Anthony Dwayne McRae started shooting on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing, murdering three students and wounding five others. The fact that McRae, who killed himself as police approached him, was black is the inconvenient detail that prevents Old Joe Biden and his henchmen from touting this shooting as evidence of the “white supremacy” they have repeatedly claimed is the biggest terror threat the nation faces, but which we rarely see. The reality is that McRae’s victims might be alive today were it not for a far-Left prosecutor who undoubtedly has the wholehearted support of Biden’s handlers, and who dismissed previous felony gun charges against McRae that would have barred him from owning a firearm.

McRae might have obtained a weapon illegally, but he wouldn’t have had remotely as easy a path to mass murder were it not for Ingham County Prosecutor Carol Siemon (a Democrat, of course), who encountered McRae in June 2019, when he was charged with unlawfully carrying a concealed pistol. Siemon’s office dismissed the felony gun charges against McRae, and instead, according to a Tuesday report in the Washington Free Beacon, let him “plead guilty to a lesser misdemeanor gun charge, and he served a little more than a year on probation, which ended May 2021.”

What’s more, the Detroit News reported Tuesday that “the initial charge” against McRae “was a felony that carried a potential penalty of five years in prison, according to the records.” That would have put McRae behind bars on the day that he ventured onto the Michigan State University campus and opened fire. Instead, Siemon’s office opted to be as lenient as possible with McRae. The News adds that “in October 2019, Ingham County prosecutors added a second charge against McRae: possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, a misdemeanor.” However, “that same month, October 2019, McRae agreed to plead guilty to the lesser misdemeanor charge, and prosecutors dismissed the felony charge.”

Story continues below advertisement

Even before the plea bargain agreement was made, however, it was unlikely that McRae was going to do any serious prison time. Siemon, according to the Free Beacon, “made it her office’s official policy in August 2021 to drop mandatory prison sentences for felony firearms charges.” Why? Systemic racism, of course: “She said the sentencing enhancement led to ‘dramatic racial inequity’ and was ‘not in any way linked to the goal that we share of keeping the public safe.’” That last bit about keeping the public safe takes on a new piquancy in light of the casualty count at Michigan State last Monday.

In line with the policies Siemon put in place, the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement saying that McRae would not have gotten “the legal maximum” sentence in 2019: “Even if he were convicted by a jury of the original charge, Anthony McRae would not have been recommended for a jail or prison sentence. The sentencing guideline score would have been the same if he had been convicted of either the original charge (Carrying a Concealed Weapon) or the offense for which he was convicted (carrying a firearm in a vehicle).”

The Free Beacon notes that Siemon is “part of George Soros’s vast public safety network. She has participated in international criminal justice reform junkets with other ‘reform-minded’ prosecutors like Philadelphia’s Larry Krasner (D.), Chicago’s Kim Foxx (D.), and Los Angeles’s George Gascón. She also backed radical San Francisco prosecutor Chesa Boudin (D.) ahead of a recall campaign that eventually ousted him from office last year.” She has also, not surprisingly, “come under fire before for being soft on crime,” and has received “criticism from judges and law enforcement officials for her soft-on-crime policies.”

Siemon has, however, won accolades from the Vera Institute for Justice, which is funded by George Soros’s Open Society Foundation. The Vera Institute praised Siemon and other far-Left prosecutors for reducing “racial inequities in the criminal legal system.” What that means in practice, as the case of Anthony McRae vividly illustrates, is releasing more criminals back onto the streets, where they can prey anew upon innocent citizens.

So what’s it all about? What is George Soros trying to do? The man himself shed some light on this question back in June 1993, when he told the UK’s Independent: “It is a sort of disease when you consider yourself some kind of god, the creator of everything, but I feel comfortable about it now since I began to live it out.”

Soros does have apparently inexhaustible amounts of money with which to play god, as well as an unshakeable dedication to backing candidates and causes that have the effect of weakening America, and making it more squalid, poorer, and more dangerous than it was before he began showering Leftists with his largesse. If Soros is a god, or more precisely, if he thinks of himself as one, he is a malevolent god, a god of vengeance and destruction, visiting harm upon the United States of America for evils real or imagined, and imperiling its very continued existence as a free society in the process. Anthony McRae and Carol Siemon were just pawns in his game.

They release people who commit crimes with guns, and do not charge them with gun crimes, yet they want to pass laws with more gun restrictions, which will do nothing but attack law abiding citizens right to purchase, own, and carry a gun. While they have their heavily armed security guards.

Don’t mean to make fun or light of these tragedies with Biden, but the “hits” just keep coming with this bunch in Washington. But we know Biden’s not in charge…it’s the former muslim-in-chief.

People who accommodate killers are worse the the killers themselves and should be given the death penalty by the state or by the relatives of the victims that have been killed. That applies to those directly involved as well as those who promote and fund accommodations for killers.
