Elon Musk Mass Firings At Twitter … Half of Staff Reportedly Cut

Reports state Twitter has lost about half it’s staff in the cuts … with some stating around 3,700 people have been let go.
Elon Musk is sharpening his knives at Twitter…’cause he’s planning to wipe out half the workforce to put the company on the right path, or so he claims … but employees have fired back with a preemptive lawsuit.
The new Chief Twit, as Musk anointed himself after his $44 billion purchase of the social media giant, fired off a chilling memo to his 7,500 employees Thursday.
The email — which was only signed “Twitter” — informed workers to stay away from all offices Friday as Musk begins to clean house, the New York Times reported. An exact head count was not provided in the email, but the NYT says half the staff is set to be fired.
The email leaves no doubt … “In an effort to place Twitter on a healthy path, we will go through the difficult process of reducing our global workforce. We recognize that this will impact a number of individuals who have made valuable contributions to Twitter, but this action is unfortunately necessary to ensure the company’s success moving forward.”
Twitter staffers read the tea leaves and filed a class action lawsuit late Thursday, asking a judge to declare any firings now would be in violation of California and federal law, in part because there was insufficient notice.

If Musk was smart, which he is, he’d have taken preventative measures BEFORE informing any being fired.
Such as locking off all access to the company by canceling passwords.
And immediately escorting all fired personnel out of the building WITHOUT letting them take anything from their desks.
Heck I’d even have a virus ready to melt down the computers of the “canned” the instant they tried to access.
You can’t ever ferret out 100% of the rat population, but you can minimize the damage.

My thoughts too Dan. He may have to legally pay them a salary, but he can overnight them each a mop, a broom and a dust pan, with a note congratulating them on their new job. In the meantime, he can lock anyone out of anything he wants. Since it is a private business not a government entity, he can rewrite their job description giving them no access to the system. I am with you, he probably had insiders already pre-positioning safeguards, using the media to deflect intentions from his agenda.

Steve Jobs asked the entire board of Apple to resign before he returned as CEO.
Not firing the old staff would create a Deep State within Twitter; a self-proclaimed resistance.

Jeopardy, and the answer is: “Accepted position as Trump’s White House Chief of Staff in 2024, after firing the most people at one sitting since President Reagan in 1981. Who is Elon Musk?” What an incredible job those two would do for the Republic if they decided to team up. Instead of Martin and Lewis like we have now with Biden and Pelosi, we would have a real powerful team, people would be lining up to serve with those two.

Mosque is cutting the losses before they start. Who knows what damage they would do if they were to remain employed at twitter as they hate republicans and would still censure them especially if Mosque was to open twitter up to republicans.
