The sneaky strategy unfolded just hours after Hochul’s first and only face-off with Republican challenger Lee Zeldin, during which the incumbent Democrat stunningly said she couldn’t understand why it’s “so important” to lock up criminals (New York Post). City Journal: Lacking much in the way of charisma or retail political skills, governing a state in slow-motion fiscal collapse with spiraling crime and public disorder, Hochul appears on the verge of a historic defeat, with tightening polls showing only a few points separating her from her Republican opponent, Congressman Lee Zeldin. New York’s “blue state model”—a thick social-services infrastructure, funded by high taxes and empowered by a highly politicized public-sector union complex—appears in danger of rejection by an electorate asking if all that expensive government is really worth the price (City Journal). Gunman hijacked MTA bus in Queens borough of New York City, police said

A New York City MTA bus was hijacked in Queens on Thursday morning before crashing into a utility pole, according to local reports.

Police said a gunman confronted the bus driver just before 9 a.m. at 199th Street and Linden Boulevard in Cambria Heights. He allegedly demanded the driver open the door before ordering the driver to drive at gunpoint, WPIX-TV reported.

The driver opened the back door of the bus so that passengers could escape, sources told the outlet.

Police said the driver jumped out a window of the moving bus a short time later, sending the bus crashing into the pole, WNBC reported.

The bus driver was treated for minor injuries at a hospital.

Police took the gunman into custody at the scene.

This news report is blatant reminder that if the police force is defunded then there in American cities and even towns there a drastic raise in crime especially heinous vile violent murderous crimes, as rapes and murderers along with rapes and the murder of the rape’s victims. There would be more kidnappings and then along with that, many times, the torture and murder of the innocent people who had been kidnapped. Also, more robberies and vicious violent assaults on peaceful people by hooligans and well as more vile sex assaults.

There would be a sharp and awful increase of wife and child abuse. In addition, there would be a terrible large inflation of riots along with the arson, looting and vandalism that is always part of it.

There would even in non-riots be an increase in home and business break- ins with looting vandalism and physical harm committed against the peaceful people by thugs.

There can be no doubt that many people who now want the police to be defunded would be first to complain if they would become a victim of hooligans.

In conclusion the police definitely be well funded and supported and never defunded.

The USA needs just enough government to preserve general order& to facilitate (but not conduct) protection & support of those incapable of managing their own affairs.
Too much government, such as in NY & other ‘cyanotic’ states (Blue because the DemoComs have sucked the oxygen out of the state) creates chaos …
