Climate activists throw mashed potatoes on Monet painting to protest fossil fuel extraction

By CBS, Oct 23, 2022

Two climate activists threw mashed potatoes at Claude Monet’s “Les Meules” and then glued themselves underneath the painting on Sunday. Museum Barberini in Potsdam, Germany said on Twitter that the painting was not damaged during the incident.

Last Generation, a climate activist group based in Germany, claimed responsibility for the action on Twitter. The group posted video of the incident, showing the activists wearing high-visibility orange vests and flinging mashed potatoes on the work before gluing themselves to the wall beneath the painting.

“If it takes a painting – with #MashedPotatoes or #TomatoSoup thrown at it – to make society remember that the fossil fuel course is killing us all: Then we’ll give you #MashedPotatoes on a painting!” the group tweeted.

I do believe that the paintings have a very thin Lucite layer over the canvas itself, not visible to the casual observer, to protect the painting from dust, moisture, and other environmental elements. That probably saved the painting from damage from this assault.

Since these idiots glued themselves to the floor, someone should have gotten a bull whip or a rattan branch and delivered the 40 Biblical lashes (actually 39) to each of those vandals. I’ll bet that such a whipping would be a message that they would not forget and it would be a deterrent to recidivism and a deterrent to others that would think of destroying a piece of art worth millions. And the other co-conspirator members of Last Generation need 20 lashes each.

This liberal s**t must stop. The next time, these idiots may end up destroying priceless classics in the name of environmental nonsense.

All this left-wing frantic hysteria “chicken little” environmental “climate change” alarm is absurd.

In addition, related to this is that the futurists who helped contribute to the making of 1973 movie entitled “Soylent Green” had made movie about that life on earth would be like in the far-distant year of 2022. For from the worldview from the timeframe 1973 , the year 2022 was ,very much , seen as distant future.

The point is environmental experts of 1973 who had a hand in the making of that movie had been proven completely wrong in everything they had predicted what life for people would be like because of environmental pollution in the year of 2022.

This should tell all thinking people something.

Go ahead a watch that movie, you might find it very amusing.

This shows just how irrational that those to climate protesters really are that they feel that this vandalism will help the environment.

How did the arrive at that museum to act out their vandalism ? By a car or some other type of vehicle ?

If so they are burning more fossil fuels and thus to the “climate problem.”

No, way more severe punishment, that is what is needed. Sue their parents for damages.

What these Bozos don’t realize is that fossil fuels are the reason that civilization escaped from being hunter gathers began to enjoy unprecedented prosperity.

Has even ONE of the Climate “scientists” predictions come true? For example, algore predicted that polar bears would soon become extinct. There are now about 30,000 polar bears alive. many more than when he made his prediction.

So lets have invalid science determine our policy on fossil fuels. And go back to using wood to heat our homes.

The climate terrorist should be placed in a room where they will either freeze or dehydrate till they perish.

Just strip them naked, super-glue their asses to the floor and let them “expire” naturally…… oh, glue their mouths shut!

They glued themselves? I say let them stay there until they beg to be rescued. And charge the public extra to throw things at them.

6 months in a chain gang with no fossil fuel heating at night might make them more “climate aware”.
But we all know that they will be diagnosed with “climate insanity” and allowed to do it all again.
This behaviour is absolute proof of brainwashing and just another thing for which we can “thank” the Left.

There seems to be a lot of anger toward Renaissance and Impressionist art.
This is cultural attack worthy of the taliban.

The same governments that own and run the museums are responsible for the “climate crisis” nonsense/propaganda.

This is total BS. I was at a gallery once and approached a painting to point to something to my companion and a guard shouted at me to not touch the painting and move away from it. This was no Monet. On what planet can someone even approach such a painting without guards stopping that? I smell a rat.

These people are just sanctimonious egotists who just get personal pleasure from their virtue signalling. Like the ones who go in stores and spill and damage food. If anything they do not win people to their cause, and alienate many who might support it.

Firstly global warming is total piffle. The earth naturally warms and cools but over millions of years. The earth is possibly warming but it will right itself and besides we in England are only adding .8 per cent to this. Why don’t they go to the country which is adding the most to global warming – China.

Where was security? This is when you want to taser the ever livin’ crap out of “Climate Clowns” when they try this BS! 2 or 3 times even. Might knock some sense into these libtards heads, or at least replace all that hot air with something else for awhile! Brainwashed idiots! Jail them for their lack of brians.

There can be no doubt that it was permitted to happen. If the people charged with protecting the artwork didn’t stop the attack, then there’s zero chance that the attackers will face punishment.

If they just let them get away with this then they will keep doing it and probably escalate it. Punishment sufficient to deter the crime is the only way to stop it. 6 months in jail deprived of the internet for starters.
