Biden’s Settlements Slap at Israel

The President reverses U.S. policy to turn up the heat on Jerusalem.

By The Editorial Board. Wall Street Journal, Feb. 29, 2024 :

Now is the time, President Biden has decided, to campaign against Israeli settlements. If this were a priority, he could have done it at any point in the past three years. Instead, Mr. Biden waited until Israel was under attack to pile on.

in the lead up to Tuesday’s Michigan Democratic primary, in which Arab-American groups sought to embarrass the President. Some coincidence.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced a reversal of U.S. settlement policy last Friday. “New settlements are counterproductive to reaching an enduring peace. They’re also inconsistent with international law,” he said. That last part revives a policy from late in the Carter and Obama Administrations intended as a shot at Israel.

West Bank settlements are complicated because the history is too. The area was included in the League of Nations’ Mandate for Palestine granted to Britain to create a Jewish “national home.” Israel has a real claim, and so do the Palestinians—hence the dispute.

The West Bank, also known as Judea and Samaria, is the biblical Jewish heartland. Israel conquered it in 1967 not from Palestine, but from Jordan, which had invaded Israel. Jordan had occupied the West Bank since seizing it in 1948, after which it expelled every Jew. Can the Israelis who later returned—and their children and grandchildren—all be condemned as squatters and international criminals?

U.S. policy has generally maintained that the dispute is fundamentally political, to be resolved in final-status negotiations rather than by lawyers or biased international bodies. The new Biden policy hangs Israel out to dry before Europe and the International Court of Justice.

President Reagan rejected the view that Israeli settlements are illegal, and that position held across Administrations until President Obama’s parting shot, even as settlements were criticized. Under President Trump in 2019, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo found that the settlements are “not per se inconsistent with international law.” The careful wording recognizes that the consensus settlement blocs, likely to stay Israeli in any peace deal, aren’t the same as an outpost on a hill to which a Palestinian has a deed. Has that nuance been lost?

Criminalizing all 500,000 Israelis in the West Bank won’t bring peace closer. It tells the Palestinians, who have rebuffed every offer of statehood, that they needn’t make concessions. The U.S. will make their dreams come true.

This is another slap at Israel at a vulnerable time. On Feb. 1, Mr. Biden created an open-ended sanctions regime that can hit any Israelis deemed to “threaten the peace, security, or stability of the West Bank,” as well as their U.S. supporters. The entire Palestinian leadership would fit that criteria, but Mr. Biden is trying to award them a state. His Administration is also leaking to the press that it may soon sanction right-wing Israeli party leaders, undermining the government.

That fiendish and vicious jihadist chief of Hamas , Yahya Sinwar for one, spoke the truth, which he let it slip out that “If not for Iran’s support for the resistance… we would not have obtained these capabilities. “

This is a horrendous reflection on Joe Biden because he has and still does strive to uphold that hostile anti-America and anti-Israel Islamic regime of Iran with as much financial help and underprop, as he is able to.

Therefore, that “mullah regime” of Iran now has the money to send deadly weapons to Hamas.

So Joe Biden, Iran and Hamas and guilty of the murder
of many innocent people, which started in October 7th. 2023, if not before that specific date.

That treasonous fiendish villain Joe Biden, had even an insidious way providing that aggressive Israel and America hating hostile Islamic regime of Iran with $ ten billion. Before this most recent betrayal of the State of Israel and the United States ,Biden allowed that Islamic tyranny that to obtain $ Six billion. How terribly wicked of Biden .For that belligerent ”mullah regime” of Iran calls Israel “The little Satan and the US “The great Satan.”

We may be sure that either in a direct way or an indirect way will use that money to advance its nuclear weapons program and further its stooge terror/murder jihad organizations which are Hamas, Hezbollah , Islamic Jihad.

Some Westerners might find in a bit interesting that Ayatollah Khamenei as well as the other ayatollahs and mullahs who have so much terrible power in Iran , don’t ever engage in any shootings and bombings , they just have their useful idiots who are the Muslim terrorists those three horrendous jihad entities to the dirty work of murdering of people for them as their tools.

Some of that vast amount of money Biden those in power in Iran to obtain will , without doubt , also be given in support to al Qaeda and ISIS .

Truly, Joe Biden is a treacherous scoundrel.
