Far left network CBS seized all of Catherine Herridge’s belongings including files, computers and most importantly, most information on privileged sources.
“A former CBS manager, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said that he had ‘never heard of anything like this,'” said Jonathan Turley.

The position of CBS has alarmed many, including the union, as an attack on free press principles by one of the nation’s most esteemed press organizations.
I have spoken confidentially with current and former CBS employees who have stated that they could not recall the company ever taking such a step before. One former CBS journalist said that many employees “are confused why [Herridge] was laid off, as one of the correspondents who broke news regularly and did a lot of original reporting.”
That has led to concerns about the source of the pressure. He added that he had never seen a seizure of records from a departing journalist, and that the move had sent a “chilling signal” in the ranks of CBS.
A former CBS manager, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said that he had “never heard of anything like this.” He attested to the fact that, in past departures, journalists took all of their files and office contents. Indeed, the company would box up everything from cups to post-its for departing reporters. He said the holding of the material was “outrageous” and clearly endangered confidential sources.

CBS seizes confidential files of fired reporter pursuing Hunter Biden laptop story in ‘unprecedented’ move: sources

The acclaimed CBS reporter who was investigating the Hunter Biden laptop scandal before she was fired last week had her personal files seized by the network in an “unprecedented” move, sources told The Post on Thursday.
Catherine Herridge — who is the middle of a First Amendment case being closely watched by journalists nationwide — was among 20 CBS News staffers let go as part of a larger purge of hundreds of employees at parent company Paramount Global.
Her firing had stunned co-workers, but the network’s decision to hold on to her personal materials, along with her work laptop where she may have other confidential info, has left many staffers shaken, according to insiders.
“It’s so extraordinary,” a source familiar with the situation told The Post, noting that the files — which are presumptively now the property of CBS News — most likely contain confidential material from Herridge’s stints at both Fox and CBS.
The source said the network boxed up all her personal belongings except for Herridge’s notes and files and informed her that it would decide what — if anything — would be returned to her.
“They never seize documents [when you’re let go],” a second source close to the network said.

A CBS spokesperson pushed back on claims that the network plans to keep any sensitive information belonging to Herridge.
“We have respected her request to not go through the files, and out of our concern for confidential sources, the office she occupied has remained secure since her departure,” the rep told The Post.
“We are prepared to pack up the rest of her files immediately on her behalf – with her representative present as she requested.”
Sources feared the network’s actions could have an impact on Herridge’s First Amendment case because her documents may contain privileged conversations she had with her lawyers or the identities of sources.
CBS seized the computer and confidential files of Catherine Herridge, who was ousted last week among broader layoffs.

This Leftist bunch in power now WILL never give it up. They will result to murder and mayhem to retain it. It is a wonder that the “informant” and Ms. Herridge weren’t found dead in an alley or in their homes. The repukes are ignoramus’s. They have never learned the DemonRats are out there. They can’t be bargained with. They can’t be reasoned with. They don’t feel pity or remorse or fear. They will not stop ever, till we are dead. Trump may just win the election but he will never be inaugurated. If he wins the country’s dummies will explode. The stereotypes will burn murder and plunder. After they are done with their own they will move to the suburbs to continue the madness. In some (Red) states the suburbs are armed. That is when the “shooting” starts. Most likely no quarter will be asked and no quarter will be given. The Leftists in power will pass all manner of new laws to quail the “insurrection”. The election and handover of power will be suspended. Many will die and one communist (I think a former President) will be anointed to “take over”. Equivalent to his 4th term in office but without end. Cheering in the background will be the Fourth Estate the MSM and their propaganda machine. The laws in place to protect us from the goobermint and the military will be naught. Remember we have been invaded by young military aged men. They have no allegiance to this country. They can easily be armed and fed by the goobermint that is in place and lightly controlled by the military. Therefore they will continue the rape, murder and pillage the stereotypes mounted. This will be toward the middle class in the Red states. Remember the DemonRats have worked overtime to disarm us. More than one state are submitting Bills that if 3 or more friends go to the shooting range with semi-automatics firearms to practice then they are considered an illegal Militia. Yep. They are trying it here in VA. I fear for my state and I fear for my country. I say it again….The DemonRats are out there. They can’t be bargained with. They can’t be reasoned with. They don’t feel pity or remorse or fear. They will not stop till we are destroyed.
