Hamas Hudna Goes Into Effect as Hostages Are Expected to Be Freed

The ceasefire reported in Western media is a hudna in Islam, a pattern of retreat followed by regrouping and rearming, which permits an attack on the territory previously left behind.

Hamas has already violated the ceasefire and we are barely a day into it. The hostages were supposed to be released Thursday Hamas pushed it back. And 15 minutes after the ceasefire began, Hamas fired rockets into southern Israel. They are playing for time, moving the other hostages, keeping the young ones,  extricating Hamas leaders out who have been stuck in place since the war began – and Israel will come under enormous pressure not to restart military operations to destroy Hamas.

“Israel is no longer in control of events. At a stroke, it has yielded control of the war to Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar.” (Melanie Phillips)

Hamas Delays Hostage Release, Demands Aid to Northern Gaza

By: Newsmax, 25 November 2023:

The armed wing of Hamas said it had decided to delay Saturday’s scheduled second round of hostage releases until Israel committed to allowing aid trucks to enter northern Gaza.

Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades said the hostage releases would be delayed if Israel did not adhere to the agreed terms for the release of Palestinian prisoners.

There was no immediate Israeli response to the statement. Earlier an Israeli military spokesperson had told France’s BFM television station that, barring last minute changes, 13 Israeli hostages were expected to be freed.

He said 39 Palestinian prisoners would be released in return.

Under the truce deal between Israel and Hamas, mediated by Qatar, a total of 50 hostages are to be exchanged for 150 Palestinian prisoners, some of them convicted on weapon charges and violent offenses, over four days.

In the first exchange Friday, 13 Israeli women and children – out of around 240 hostages captured by Hamas fighters on a killing spree in southern Israel on Oct. 7 – were released. Twenty-four jailed Palestinian women and 15 teenagers were released from Israeli jails.

Saturday’s setback came just hours after Egypt, which controls the Rafah border crossing into southern Gaza through which vital aid supplies have resumed, said it had received “positive signals” from all parties over a possible extension of that deal.

OFF-TOPIC:

I wonder if Xi Jing Ping’s visit to San Francisco is a way to get the US administration to lower their guard; before they invade Taiwan? His sudden diplomatic mood seems fishy.

Ukraine has bought us almost 2 years to prepare Taiwan. Hope deterrence continues for as long as we need and then some.

Missed Israeli PR move: why isn’t Israel posting the photos of their nice little old lady and kids hostages released next to those Hamas terrorist hostages released?

During the pause in fighting, and after the exchange of hostages for prisoners, Hamas soldiers attacked an IDF unit wounding several Israeli soldiers. There was still a day left in the pause and Hamas violated it. The IDF should immediately restart the war going full force to eliminate Hamas. Keep it up for two weeks before even considering another pause. I am sorry for the prisoners and I pray they somehow survive, but war is war and if you are caught in the middle you will be in extreme jeopardy. I don’t feel so sorry for the Gazan civilians who choose to remain, either they don’t have good sense or they support Hamas.
