The grim reality is that the transition to green energy will be catastrophic for the economy, and if it is fully followed through, will reduce the United States to Third World status. The Biden regime seems intent on making life as difficult as they possibly can for Americans, and aiding and enabling America’s foes in every way. That’s what the green agenda will do: China, a much greater polluter than America ever was, will take the place of the U.S. in the global economy as we reduce ourselves to a backwater and former great power.

A recently-published study complicates President Joe Biden’s claims that his massive green agenda will allow for a “just transition” for blue-collar fossil fuel workers to land on their feet in his envisioned green economy.
Story continues below advertisementBiden has routinely asserted that his anti-fossil fuel “Bidenomics” agenda will usher in a new green manufacturing and jobs boom in the U.S. However, the study, authored by researchers from the University of Pennsylvania, Wake Forest University and labor market analytics firm Lightcast, found that less than 1% of workers leaving fossil fuel-related jobs transition into green energy jobs, and that the supposed benefits of such a transition are unlikely to be evenly distributed across the country, geographically or socioeconomically.
“I came to office determined to move away from the trickle-down economics and to focus on the middle class. Because I said when the middle class does well, everybody does well — everybody does well,” Biden said during a Wednesday speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, touting the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), his signature climate and healthcare bill, on its one-year anniversary.
“Folks, as I’ve said for a long time — for a long time: when I think climate, I think jobs,” Biden said in the speech. “Not a joke. When I think climate, I think jobs. That’s the future.”…
While some states exhibit low rates of transition into green jobs, states like California have above average rates of green energy job adoption, the study asserted. To arrive at their findings, the authors analyzed 130 million online employment profiles, which represented about 300 million job-to-job transitions….

I worked for 34 years for the Los Angeles DWP in Generating Stations that burned fuel oil and natural gas to generate electricity. Most of those years I was an operator, operating the large boiler and turbine equipment. As a result of this I know things that nearly all politicians are ignorant of when it comes to the electrical system. Here are the problems with wind power. When the wind is blowing you have electricity, when the wind stops blowing there is no electricity. Also the amount of electricity generated is dependent on the wind speed. With solar the big thing is the day and night cycles. During the daytime there is electricity, when the night comes there is no electricity. Also weather cycles of sunny days, rainy days, and cloudy days will affect electricity generation. Also solar and wind requires huge amounts of land. Also wind turbines are a big hazard to many bird species. In contrast fossil fuel electricity generating stations are not subject to day and night cycles and weather cycles. The power output of these fossil fuel generating stations can be adjusted to whatever the electrical system needs at the moment. Also it is impossible for wind and solar power to meet all electrical needs. There is not enough land areas that can be used for solar and wind power. I really wish the people in government would not be exaggerating and blowing out of proportion the effect of a small amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere on so called climate change. These people wrongly think that Carbon Dioxide, which is a natural component of the air will cause the earth to catastrophically over heat.

and most of the wind and solar equipment cannot be recycled. landfill fodder and a lot if it is toxic
Over the weekend here in Texas ERCOT requested energy conservation during 109°F heat because of lack of wind.
The problem is politicians are mostly lawyers, not engineers, scientists, technicians nor craftsmen

Unless there has been change Hoover Dam provides a large portion of power to LA. My grandfather was a consulting engineer with Westinghouse and GE on that project. YOu can’t get an cheaper source of power than hydro.

Shortly after Hoover Dam was built Los Angeles did get a large amount of its electricity from Hoover Dam. However as the years went by and the city of Los Angeles grew, it received a smaller percentage of its power from Hoover Dam and more of its electricity from other sources. With Hoover Dam the electricity generated is divided up among various cities.

Also do not forget that wind turbines need to be shut down if the wind velocity is too fast causing the turbine to turn to fast. Also most I know are started up with a diesel engine in the housing.
