They’ll indict a ham sandwich if it graced a plate at Mar-a-Lago. But the Biden’s can rape, pillage, and subvert the country.
Trump’s valet, Walt Nauta, who was previously charged in the first indictment, also received two new obstruction-related charges.
The superseding indictment also charged Carlos De Oliveira, Mar-a-Lago’s head of maintenance, with altering, destroying, mutilating, or concealing a document, making false statements, and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
“The superseding indictment also charges Trump, De Oliveira, and Nauta with two new obstruction counts based on allegations that the defendants attempted to delete surveillance video footage at The Mar-a-Lago Club in summer 2022,” a statement from the special counsel’s spokesman Peter Carr said.
Special Counsel Jack Smith, who turned a blind eye to Biden family corruption as head of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) public integrity section during the Obama administration, slapped three additional charges on former President Donald Trump on Thursday for his alleged mishandling of classified documents. The department has also added a Mar-a-Lago maintenance worker to the original indictment.
“This is nothing more than a continued desperate and flailing attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their Department of Justice to harass President Trump and those around him,” the Trump campaign wrote in a statement. “Deranged Jack Smith knows that they have no case and is casting about for any way to salvage their illegal witch hunt and to get someone other than Donald Trump to run against Crooked Joe Biden.”
Republicans react with fury to ‘brazen’ timing of bombshell new Trump indictment and claim charges were filed to distract from Biden family scandals after First Son’s sweetheart deal collapsed
- Republican lawmakers claimed the federal government is releasing new charges against Trump to distract from Hunter Biden’s alleged crimes
- Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team of prosecutors unveiled additional charges against Trump Thursday night over classified documents scandal
- It came after the Department of Justice’s deal with Hunter Biden collapsed, leaving the First Son susceptible to further criminal charges
Right on cue, after the DOJ’s exceedingly friendly (and embarrassing) plea deal with Hunter Biden was put on hold, Special Counsel Jack Smith has filed a superseding indictment against Donald J. Trump.
The superseding indictment, filed today, includes:
- a new charge relating to the willful retention of national defense information (18 USC § 793);
- new allegations concerning the preexisting charge of conspiracy to obstruct justice (18 USC § 1512(k));
- a new charge of altering, destroying, mutilating, or concealing an object (18 USC §§ 1512(b)(2)(B), 2);
- a new defendant: Mar-a-Lago property manager Carlos De Oliveira.
For starters, much of the superseding indictment is the same as the original indictment from early June, 2023. The basic facts asserted by Special Counsel Smith haven’t changed. There are, however, new facts – and a new defendant – which complicate Trump’s defense…
Republicans in frenzy over timing of ‘brazen’ new charges against Trump: ‘We cannot allow this to stand’
By Richard Pollina, NY Post, July 28, 2023:
The three new charges stacked against Donald Trump have left members of the GOP enraged over the timing a day after Hunter Biden’s probation-only plea deal fell apart.
“It’s so brazen right now, what they’re doing,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) told Fox News Thursday following the announcement of the charges against Trump in the ongoing classified documents probe.
“It is really a subversion of the rule of law. I mean, they’re taking the rule of law, turning it on its head, and we cannot allow this to stand.”
Hawley said the DOJ has begun “charging random people” after Carlos De Oliveira, the property manager for Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, was added to the indictment — hinting that the new charges were meant to take attention off the first son.
“Is it any coincidence that the DOJ rushes to add these new indictments today, after the Hunter debacle, after their own self-dealing and two-timing is exposed, after they tried to us the true extent of this plea deal,” Hawley proclaimed.

Huh – So Trump is not allowed to delete tapes from his own residence. How does that make any sense?
If I remember Hillary destroyed emails and destroyed blackberrys. These were devices and emails requested by the government yet nothing happened and no charges.
Two tier justice at play. Plus they were government devices nit hime security.
