Donald Trump Cannot Get a Top-Tier Lawyer Because of Threats of Legal and Career Reprisals

20

Trump is having issues getting top-tier lawyers because the Democrats ‘The 65 Project’ is threatening to file bar charges against them if they defend him. Under the boot of Democrat tyranny, everyone is afraid.

Project 65 is led by David Brock, the founder of far left smear machine Media Matters for America and the super PAC American Bridge 21st Century.

Here’s what Brock describes as the mission of his project: “[Project 65] will not only bring the grievances in the bar complaints but shame them and make them toxic in their communities.”

Story continues below advertisement

Project 65 is torn right from the playbook of Saul Alinsky (“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it”): Shame lawyers, plague them with hefty legal bills, and especially pick off ones who are less famous and backed by fewer resources. Given all that, it’s better to call Project 65 Project Shame, Project Fear, or the Project of Personal Destruction. (source)

The Three Categories of Lawyers Project 65 Seeks to “Freeze” in Alinsky Terms

Project 65 plans to target three categories of lawyers:

  1. Trump’s inner circle of lawyers
  2. Lawyers who signed on to be alternate presidential electors;
  3. Attorneys who participated in the attack on the Capitol or were simply present at the events of January 6.

Why Donald Trump Cannot Get a Top-Tier Lawyer

By: Alan M. Dershowitz, Gatestone, June 15, 2023:

  • There are disturbing suggestions that among the reasons lawyers are declining the case is because they fear legal and career reprisals.
  • There is a nefarious group that calls itself The 65 Project that has as its goal to intimidate lawyers into not representing Trump or anyone associated with him. They have threatened to file bar charges against any such lawyers.
  • I wrote an op-ed offering to defend pro bono any lawyers that The 65 Project goes after. So The 65 Project immediately went after me, and contrived a charge based on a case in which I was a constitutional consultant, but designed to send a message to potential Trump lawyers: If you defend Trump or anyone associated with him, we will target you and find something to charge you with. The lawyers to whom I spoke are fully aware of this threat — and they are taking it seriously…. It may even be worse today….
  • Good lawyers… generally welcome challenges, especially in high-profile cases. This case is different: the threats to the lawyers are greater than at any time since McCarthyism. Nor is the comparison to McCarthyism a stretch. I recall during the 1950s how civil liberties lawyers, many of whom despised communism, were cancelled, and attacked if they dared to represent people accused of being communists.
  • Our system of justice is based on the John Adams standard: he too was attacked for defending the British soldiers accused of the Boston Massacre, but his representation of these accused killers now serves as a symbol of the 6th Amendment right to counsel. That symbol has now been endangered….
  • Trump’s lawyers have now alleged that one of the prosecutors has suggested to Stanley Woodward, the lawyer for Waltine Nauta, Trump’s co-defendant, that his application for judgeship may be negatively affected if he persists in defending Nauta vigorously rather than encouraging him to cooperate against Trump. If that is true – and I have not seen the evidence to support it – then it represents a direct attack on the 6th Amendment.
  • Whatever one may think of Trump or the charges against him, all Americans must stand united against efforts to intimidate lawyers and chill them from defending unpopular clients pursuant to the 6th Amendment. Bar associations must look into the threats and actions of The 65 Project and of prosecutors who try… to influence the representation of clients by threats to their careers or other means.
  • Hard cases may make bad law but partisan cases endanger constitutional rights. We must do everything to assure that all defendants, including Donald Trump, get the zealous representation to which the Constitution entitled all Americans.

Former President Donald Trump has now been arraigned and pleaded not guilty. He was represented by two lawyers, neither of whom he apparently wants to lead his defense at trial. He has been interviewing Florida lawyers, and several top ones have declined. I know, because I have spoken to them. There are disturbing suggestions that among the reasons lawyers are declining the case is because they fear legal and career reprisals.

There is a nefarious group that calls itself The 65 Project that has as its goal to intimidate lawyers into not representing Trump or anyone associated with him. They have threatened to file bar charges against any such lawyers. When these threats first emerged, I wrote an op-ed offering to defend pro bono any lawyers that The 65 Project goes after. So The 65 Project immediately went after me, and contrived a charge based on a case in which I was a constitutional consultant, but designed to send a message to potential Trump lawyers: if you defend Trump or anyone associated with him, we will target you and find something to charge you with. Those vicious leftists in power in their spiteful malice and hate for Donald Trump don’t actually care if their charges against him are valid and true or not, they are only interested in their horrendous agenda against Mr. Trump and all American patriotic Conservatives is successful.

Those bizarre balderdash of “legal indictments” against Donald Trump by the horrendously wicked insidious and sinister left-wing power elites who have examining everything they could, regardless of how baseless those accusations against Mr. Trump are , to use in their malice-filled and vicious determination to take the American patriot down hard and keep him down.

Those indictments against him only prove that saying true, which is that “Evil is always looking for an excuse.”

Obviously you haven’t read the indictments. Even Bill Barr admits they are a strong case, that Trump violated the law, and that Trump’s toast.

We have been living under the boots of royalty for longer than anyone wants to admit. We are so deceived that we actually think we’ve been living as free people controlling a government that serves us.

If we don’t rise up and defend the public servant we elected, the king will make sure we understand who the boss is, and also make sure we can’t do a f***** thing about it.

We’re a broken horse, afraid of the rider.

We will have to go through hell to get out of this mess. If we don’t, that’s where we’ll live and die.

Lost Lawyers as he never paid them and always ignored their advice. Real lawyers advised Trump to return the documents, but being Trump, he would only listen to non-lawyer Tom Fitton’s advice.

Fitton’s firm, Judical Watch, has on staff the lawyer who prosecuted the Bill Clinton “Sock Drawer case and the staff lawyer lost the case. Tom Fitton knows what he is talking about. Others only listen to an attorney who has lost some high profile cases and whom “… in 2016 the U. S. Supreme Court warned about prosecutors like Jack Smith”. ‘In the case of a Virginia Governor, the Justices UNANIMOUSLY reversed Smith’s case, writing that “the uncontrolled power of criminal prosecutors is a threat to our separation of powers.”’

More and more, we’re learning what “By any means necessary” really means.

Time is running out for these guys and they probably can’t act fast enough to be totally effective so they’ll have to jump ahead to “Plan C”. And not just for Trump but his family, friends, and supporters, too..

And ultimately, they’ll come for people like me who post to social media sites like this one. With 7×24 surveillance of all our activities, this will be a slam dunk for them.

And, of course, they’ll require that we all take the “safe and effective” to protect us from the as yet to be identified new variant.

It’s called blackmail and those who are engaged in it should be brought up on that charge.

The scumbag behind this unconstitutional effort, David Brock, is funded by George Soros. It’s another reason to at the very least deport him.

So lawyers In this area of practice need to cowboy up. If then threatened take the project 65 to court and sue them for damages and the individuals behind the group. Millions in damages would end that nonsense. You have to fight back.

Time to pay attention to the obvious. Trump can’t get good lawyers because he cheats them, refuses to listen to them, and wants them to break the law for him.

Is Dershowitz serving on his legal time?

I was skeptical of Dershowitz when he was just a leftist. When he defected to Trump it confirmed my good judgement.

Dershowitz was never a “Leftist” he is and has always been a Liberal. Yes, there is a difference. Do some research and learn what it is.
