Tucker Carlson’s Speech After Final Fox News Show Goes Viral

By Jack Phillips, The Epoch Times, April 25, 2023:

In the wake of Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News, a speech that he gave after his final show aired drew attention on social media.

During the Heritage Foundation’s 50th-anniversary celebration on Saturday, Carlson gave a speech about society-wide moral decay. During the speech, the former Fox News host did not indicate he would be departing the network.

“You look around and you see so many people break under the strain under the downward of whatever this is that we are going through. And you look with disdain and sadness as you see people you know become quislings. You see them revealed as cowards. You see them going along with the new, new thing which is clearly a poisonous thing, a silly thing,” he stated. “You know, saying things you know they don’t believe because they want to keep their jobs. If there’s a single person in this room who hasn’t seen that through George Floyd, COVID, and the Ukraine war, raise your hand? Oh nobody? Right. You all know what I’m talking about.”

Carlson added to the audience: “And you’re so disappointed in people. You are. And you realize that the herd instinct is maybe the strongest instinct. I mean, it may be stronger than the hunger and sex instincts, actually. The instinct, which again, is inherent to be like everybody else and not to be cast out of the group, not to be shunned.”

His speech to the conservative organization came just a day after his final Fox News show aired. Toward the end of the program, Carlson told his viewers that he would be back on Monday, suggesting that the decision for him to leave may have been initiated by Fox.

“But you look around and you see these people and some of them really have paid a heavy price for telling the truth and they are cast out of their groups whatever those groups are but they do it,” he said later in his speech. “Anyway, I look on at those people with the deepest possible admiration,” Carlson said. “I’m paid to do that. I face no penalty. Someone came up to me, ‘You’re so brave.’ Really?!?! I’m a talk show host.”

“It’s like I can’t have any opinion I want. That’s my job. That’s why they pay me. It’s not brave to tell the truth on a cable news show and if you’re not doing that you’re really an idiot, you’re really craven. You’re lying on television? Why would you do that? You’re literally making a living to say what you think and you can’t even do that, please.”

“Carlson added to the audience: “And you’re so disappointed in people. You are. And you realize that the herd instinct is maybe the strongest instinct. I mean, it may be stronger than the hunger and sex instincts, actually. The instinct, which again, is inherent to be like everybody else and not to be cast out of the group, not to be shunned.”

Altruism, the urge to self-sacrifice to others, in other words the impulse to sacrifice your mind to the mind of others, the urge to be dependent on others, is not an instinct but it is a very primordial, tribal, common fear, impulse, and choice. Instinctual animals can not make choices, men can and do.

What is the opposite of altruism and self-sacrifice? Rational selfishness, rational self-preservation, personal independence, self-reliance — this does not mean being an anti-social, lone-wolf, and living on a desert island, it does not mean never accepting help from others, or never giving help to others — it means selective, rational, friendship; selective, rational, social intercourse; selective, rational, kindness, benevolence; and rational, non-sacrificial charity. It means Ayn Rand’s moral code of rational selfishness and self-preservation in the long-term, not survival at any cost in the short-term. Your self can not gain the world by destroying it self or as religion says what does it profit to gain the world by losing your soul.

“It is obvious why the morality of altruism is a tribal phenomenon. Prehistorical men were physically unable to survive without clinging to a tribe for leadership and protection against other tribes. The cause of altruism’s perpetuation into civilized eras is not physical, but psycho-epistemological: the men of self-arrested, perceptual mentality are unable to survive without tribal leadership and “protection” against reality. The doctrine of self-sacrifice does not offend them: they have no sense of self or of personal value-they do not know what it is that they are asked to sacrifice—they have no firsthand inkling of such things as intellectual integrity, love of truth, personally chosen values, or a passionate dedication to an idea. When they hear injunctions against “selfishness,” they believe that what they must renounce is the brute, mindless whim-worship of a tribal lone wolf. But their leaders—the theoreticians of altruism—know better. Immanuel Kant knew it; John Dewey knew it; B. F. Skinner knows it; John Rawls knows it. Observe that it is not the mindless brute, but reason, intelligence, ability, merit, self-confidence, self-esteem that they are out to destroy….

It is your mind that they want you to surrender—all those who preach the creed of sacrifice, whatever their tags or their motives, whether they demand it for the sake of your soul or of your body, whether they promise you another life in heaven or a full stomach on this earth. Those who start by saying: “It is selfish to pursue your own wishes, you must sacrifice them to the wishes of others”—end up by saying: “It is selfish to uphold your convictions, you must sacrifice them to the convictions of others.” – Ayn Rand

Wow, there is a lot to contemplate in those relatively few words. The visible signs of obeisance are important to the elite, to let them know they are winning. Masks were the most important example of that, but there are many others, maybe not as physically obvious – accepting that carbon dioxide is a pollutant, believing that windmills are the future – in essence, believing Big Brother, not your own lying eyes.

Evil. OK. That’s pretty obvious.

Who is doing all this and why?
They’re not doing all these things just to be “evil”. They have a goal and a plan to reach that goal.

Some folks are out to rule the world.
Several entities are out to rule the world.
Who, specifically and categorically, were our enemies on day one of our Republic?

There is a lesson in progress. We have to learn it so we don’t threaten our neighborhood.

As the world draws closer to midnight, there is a need to extinguish all sources of light; Tucker was one of the last remaining sources of light. We are witnessing the normalisation of darkness and all the hell that would bring.
