Joe Biden’s New Scapegoat: Your Local Gas Station

Gas station owners are small business owners. Many of them are new immigrants, or first generation Americans. The work on very poor margins. Now they are being attacked by the Biden Administration for high energy costs. Here is the irony. Many gas station owners probably voted for Joe Biden in 2020. Well, this is their reward. Even the Liberal elitist Jeff Bezos, owner of the Washington Post, is calling out the Biden Administration for it’s economic illiteracy.

“America’s industrial progress, in the short span of a century and a half, has acquired the character of a legend: it has never been equaled anywhere on earth, in any period of history. The American businessmen, as a class, have demonstrated the greatest productive genius and the most spectacular achievements ever recorded in the economic history of mankind. What reward did they receive from our culture and its intellectuals? The position of a hated, persecuted minority. The position of a scapegoat for the evils of the bureaucrats.”

Joe Biden has a new scapegoat: Your local gas station

President Joe Biden is proving that patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels.

Recall that over the last couple of months, Biden has been desperately trying to explain away the high cost of gasoline. When people didn’t buy Democrats’ scapegoating of oil companies, he claimed it was Vladimir Putin’s fault. Never mind how far gas prices had risen before Putin invaded Ukraine.

But people were not fooled, and so last week, Biden began appealing to our sense of patriotism. The new message was that when you pay $7 for gas, you are paying for the “liberal world order.”

Big surprise — even that message isn’t getting the desired results. So this weekend, Biden’s team has found a new scapegoat: your local gas station.

Yes, the Shell station down the street from you is now supposed to do its part to support the American way of life by taking a large loss on a gallon of gasoline:
