For this year's Weird Coffee Person design, we wanted to capture the sheer joy that coffee brings into our lives. This joy stems from our deep appreciation for every aspect of coffee, from the admiration of how coffee is grown to the skill and craft of roasting and brewing with endless attention to detail using all of the tools available to make the most out of your cup (even if it's with a little Bripe!). Resulting from the process of writing the World Atlas of Coffee, this poster shows a selection of the most common coffee varieties, and how they connect to each other as well as when they came to be.

We partnered with the talented Lucy T. Smith, botanical artist and scientific illustrator, to create a beautiful botanical drawings collection of the six most cultivated coffee species in the world. We've also included annotations by Dr. Aaron P. Davis, Senior Research Leader of Crops and Global Change at Kew Gardens, to describe each specie’s key characteristics.All of the illustrations were made using watercolours and modelled the species of the specimens available at Kew Garden’s herbarium. This print size groups all of the 6 species of the collection in a single poster.
