Angel Chicken Pasta

This dish isn’t pretty, but it tastes great. My Mom has been after me for ages to make this recipe. She loves it. The only problem that I had with the recipe was that it used Golden Mushroom Soup. I am not a big fan of mushrooms. I can handle the specks that are in a can of Cream of Mushroom, but I still pick out any big chunks. It’s the “plain chicken” in me. I decided to finally give this a try and swap the Golden Mushrooom Soup for Cream of Chicken. It turned out great.

How to Make Crock Pot Angel Chicken

This chicken is very flavorful and a breeze to make. Place boneless skinless chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker. In a medium saucepan, combine Italian dressing mix, cream cheese, butter, soup, and broth. Heat over medium-high heat just until cream cheese is melted and incorporated into the soup. Pour the soup mixture over the chicken and cook on LOW heat until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165ºF. Serve the chicken over angel hair pasta and garnish with fresh parsley or fresh chives.

  1. This turned out absolutely delicious!! I added a little crushed red pepper flakes to give it a little heat. My boyfriend doesn’t like his meat shredded, and of course I prefer mine shredded, so I kept 2 chicken breasts whole for him and shredded the other 2 for me. Came out perfect! That sauce was AMAZING!! Definitely going to make this again and again! Highly recommended!

  2. I’m going to make this recipe for 8 people. Can I double it? Would you recommend making more sauce as others suggest?
    Thanks!

    1. You can double the recipe by doubling all the ingredients. I made the recipe as written, so I can not say if you need to make more sauce. That would be up to you.

  3. I do not like the pieces of mushroom in the soup either. That’s why I got one of those small blenders, like blendjet. I mainly use it to whiz up cream of mushroom soup. I like the taste and it’s in a lot of recipes.

  4. Do you think it would work to make a crockpot dump meal with this recipe ? I am thinking about combining all ingredients in a freezer bag so that when in a hurry it could just be pulled out of the freezer and dumped in the crockpot but I didn’t know if it might change the consistency of the sauce/gravy.

    1. I would say about 2 pounds – this is a very forgiving recipe. Just use whatever size chicken you have. It will be just fine.

  5. I’m making this for a fellowship luncheon at church. I’m hoping, once the pasta is cooked, I can add it to the chicken in the crock pot just before we take it to church. That way it will all be warm, instead of the pasta getting cold, before we eat.

  6. I would love to make this recipe in the oven, crock pot died awhile back ago, any suggestions on oven temp and time? Thanks

  7. I made this last night and it is very good. I doubled the sauce as others have recommended because I love sauce and gravy lol. I used chicken legs and chicken tenders, it cooked for about five hours on low and it came out perfect, I did add frozen cut broccoli at the fourth hour. It tasted even better the next day.

  8. I made this recently and it’s so easy and sooooo good over spaghetti. I doubled the sauce ingredients.
    Highly recommend!
