Pin This RecipeThe BEST Chicken Casserole EVER
You are going to want to add this Crack Chicken Casserole to your menu ASAP! A creamy chicken casserole that is loaded with cheddar, bacon and ranch. YUM! I made this for lunch last week and we both absolutely LOVED it! I’m wishing I had the leftovers right now. It was seriously delicious.
Use Rotisserie Chicken in Casseroles
To cut down on the prep time of this casserole, I used a rotisserie chicken for the cooked chicken. Rotisserie chicken is my go-to for cooked chicken in recipes. We always buy a couple of rotisserie chickens on our Costco trips and keep the meat in the freezer. It makes casseroles like this a breeze to make! I had this ready to bake before the oven had fully preheated.
Can I Freeze this Chicken Casserole?
Absolutely! I love to have easy casseroles in the freezer for a quick meal later and this casserole and it works great. I usually thaw the casserole in the refrigerator overnight and bake as directed below. If you are short on time, cover the casserole with foil and bake for about 20 minutes to thaw in the oven and then uncover and bake as directed. Just make sure the casserole is bubbly before removing it from the oven to serve.
What to Serve with Crack Chicken Casserole
As I said, we LOVED this Crack Chicken Casserole. We served it with some Roasted Green Beans and Mushrooms and a batch of 7Up Biscuits. OMG! Best meal ever!!! Thankfully we had enough for leftovers. It was all just as good reheated. Add this casserole to your menu. I promise it will be a hit!

Love this recipe! It’s not as rich as the crack chicken recipes that call for cream cheese. I was able to make it gluten free by using the recommended GF Campbell’s cream of chicken soup (which I didn’t even know existed!) and corn flakes instead of crackers. It’s wonderful. I’m going to try the recommendation of adding pasta into my left overs!
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! This recipe is so good! I buy chicken and slow cook it and then shred. I put 4 cups of the chicken in freezer bags each then freeze them. This recipe is so easy to make and had my meal about 4 hours ago and can still taste/crave more… I see why there is crack in the name lol but I cooked half a box of penne noodles al dente to but on the bottom then completed the receipe on top of the noodles as is. I’m taking a portion for my best friend at work tomorrow and also dropping one off at my Sister’s family house to have them all try it!
My kids really liked this. We added broccoli and rice to the recipe and it was a hit!!!
My family loved this casserole! I took a reviewer’s suggestion and added cooked elbow macaroni to the casserole and it was a great addition! I also put a lot of broccoli in the casserole because we love casseroles that have broccoli in them! lol. A great base that you can make your own or make as stated! Thank you for taking the time to post your awesome recipes! My family and I really appreciate it! 😘

Thank you for the recipe. I used turkey bacon. I mixed garlic butter Ritz cracker, town house butter cracker and gold fish cheese crackers, it was very good.
My family enjoyed this recipe a lot. I left out the bacon bc I didn’t have any and it was still delicious! I did add 1 1/2 cups of cooked elbow macaroni To stretch it and used the Fiesta flavor of Ranch dressing. Thank you!
