Your checking bonus interest will be credited to your new checking account within 60 days of direct deposit verification and verification of enrollment in online banking or the U.S. Bank Mobile App as long as your account is open and has a positive balance. Our Verdict
We have seen a $600+ checking bonus in the past. The savings bonus works out to be an APY of 1.6%, given basic savings rates are 4%+ currently this is not competitive at all making both bonuses not very good at all. We won’t add this to our best bank bonuses.

I am OOS. I had closed my brokerage account after I got my bonus last year. My old login still works. Do I stil have to open a CD account to establish the relationship?
mine posted yesterday 5/7. Account opened 3/8, legit DDs with final one to hit over 10k on 4/26.
The daily/weekly external transfer limits really made this account annoying. No way I’m keeping this account. Will close in a month or so.
I nailed a $600 bonus. This was a nailbitter because of the open/close dates and 2 year terms
3/10/22 – Closed US Bank Account after receiving $300 bonus in Jan 2021
3/12/24 – Opened US Bank Account. Someone here posted a $600 link.
April/Early May – Threw everything but the sink at this one in multiple ACHs when I could:
Schwab-multiple 10k+, BMO-multiple 10k+, WellsFargo-multiple < 10k. Real work DD, unexpected large federal tax refund. A couple smaller AllyBank.
5/7/24 – Adjusted Interest $600
So my test was successful that “have or had a US Bank account in the last 24 months” (plus 2 days) didn’t affect eligibility
Still waiting on the $300 savings bonus.
Anyone know if it’s normal for the bonus to post in the 2nd month after opening? Came to see if there are any reports of bonus paying out today and see bosox post below. Thought my bonus would post this month but nothing. Confirmed with customer service that the promo code is applied to my account. Timeline:
4/12 opened
4/16 Fidelity $500 push
4/17 Fidelity $9,500.05 push
No bonus as of yet..
Possible it will post tomorrow or next month? Are they all typically batched on one day per month?
Similar dates, still waiting on bonus.
– 4/5/2024 Open $250 using Fidelity visa
– 4/12/2024 Transfer $5001 from Fidelity Bloom save
– 4/16/2024 Transfer $5001 from Fidelity Bloom save
Hopefully it’ll post in the next couple of days, I will update if it does. Ronald
Somewhat similar timeline for me as well, and no bonus yet:
4/18 – account opened
4/22 – $2000 push from Fidelity Bloom
4/23 – $4000 push from Fidelity Bloom
4/24 – $4000 push from Fidelity Bloom
At least two DPs of people receiving the bonus yesterday 5/7. One different factor I see is that they both opened in May, and appear to be in their 3rd statement cycle. Whereas, we all opened around mid April and just started our 2nd statement cycle. Or possibly it’s fcfs and we’re in line. Anyone’s guess, hopefully time will tell. Otherwise, I’ll be firing out some Chase Biz Payroll ACH, which I try to avoid cause of the added hassle and fees cutting into my margins lol.

Same question, no bonus yet.
I did 5k from Fidelity and 5k from wise in March. Looks like Wise coded different and shows as a transfer instead of deposit. Did another 7k in April from Fidelity. No bonus as of now.
Assuming with the $6.95 waiver that requires a $1000 in direct deposits means it’s coding correctly and based on older dp’s here.
Makes sense. Good DP, thanks. I’m still hoping they haven’t paid out the main batch this month but IDK what the deal is. Seems like there would be a floodgate of DPs if everyone was getting their payouts as expected. Instead, between Reddit and DoC, there are only a few that I’ve seen.
Komma
I thought my fee waiver was based on having a credit card.
This is also assuming you didn’t meet the $1500 minimum average balance that would also waive the $6.95 fee. ?
Ditto
I’m disappointed to read that people had some interest post on 5/7 as so far I’ve received nothing. As far as I can see, last US Bank account was before 2022.
4/8 opened account
4/19 schwab future dated transfer 4k
4/23 schwab future dated transfer 4k
4/25 schwab future dated transfer 2k
Three ways to waive the fee that I know of are $1000 monthly DD, $1500 min balance or qualifying credit card.
I’d say either they haven’t finished paying out this month, will pay out next month, or they’re cracking down on people spoofing DDs. Guess we’ll find out in time.

My bonus hasn’t posted yet either. Similar opening and push dates from Discover Bank.
Hey guys, I opened this account 12/20/23. I used the promo code on the website and completed the required 10k in DD for 500 dollars by the end of 3/2024. I have not received the bonus yet
I texted the bank via chat to inquire status of bonus, they told me my account wasn’t open in december and the promo was only valid for december? My funding deposit went in 1/2/24, but I have an email saying my account was approved and opened on 12/30/23 along with account activity.
Should I just wait till the end of May
I’m thinking banks were closed for the weekend/ new year’s day and reopened on the 2nd of Jan. They’re most likely considering that the day your account was technically opened. These are the detailed questions you should be asking the bank if you want the bonus. You should have received it by now and might have to fight. It doesn’t sound like waiting longer will do you any good.
First, you need to confirm if a promo was ever attached to your account, and why not if it wasn’t. The logical argument would then be that you applied well before the expiration and have no control over how long it took to open the account. It’ll take some effort but you might get them to apply the promo manually and credit you the bonus if you met all the requirements. Try to give them the impression you want a long term banking relationship and it’ll be in their best interest to not disappoint you.
It turns out I was approved for the account on December 30, and the promo ended on December 29.
All 10k of real DD, just frustrated with this process. I didn’t read carefully enough and assumed the code was till end of DEC. I was advised to try and go in person to a bank and see if a manager can help.

Interesting case. U.S Bank might not consider a bank account as open until the next business day when opened on a weekend/holiday. Also possible they don’t validate the promo code until the account is funded, which is pretty crappy.
Curious of the start date on your first statement. I would use that as your evidence if something is there for December. Bob
Recently had a very similar scenario opening BMO checking that I posted about. By the time the account was open, the promo period had expired. Called proactively and was informed that no promo code was attached to my new account. Jumped through some hoops and they manually applied an even better promo code than the one I intended to sign up for.
Yeah, I definitely think it’s worth being proactive early if you believe the bank opened the account after the promo expired. But, if OP has a statement from December, I would think they would win.
Bob didn’t mention if the DD was real or not. If he is waiting on Fidelity, Schwab, or similar to payout, you have a different story coming soon.

In your original comment, you said “Hey guys, I opened this account 12/20/23.”
Was that a typo? Usually when a person applies before the expiration of an offer, and they didn’t approve it until after, you are typically still eligible. It wouldn’t be your fault it took them 10 days, and they may reconsider.
But, if you applied after the promo was over, that is on you.
Exactly what Gadget - Bank Bonus Geek 🔗 said, if it wasn’t a typo and you applied on 12/20 but it took the bank 10 days to approve your application then you have a very solid argument for them to reconsider.
Hey I’ll post the same to you and Jimmy:

3/5/24 Opened account
3/22 $5,000 Ally ACH
4/1 $5,000 Ally ACH
5/7/24 $500 bonus posted
Does it take a few days for merchant info and type to pop up?
My first DD has merchant info, but the second one does not have yet. It’s just been a day.
Both from schwab, but from different account.
When is the next batch of bonuses expected to drop?
Wondering the same thing. There’s a sole DP of receiving the bonus yesterday. Assuming you met the reqs, you seen anything yet? So far I haven’t. Visorguy
Checked this morning and mine posted yesterday 5/7. Account opened 3/8, legit DDs with final one to hit over 10k on 4/26
I see, congrats! All of us April openers who used Fidelity transfers appear to not have received anything yet. There do seem to be some DPs from previous month’s batches that show a few select folks getting paid a couple days before the majority of the herd. Guess it’ll be interesting to see what happens in this instance.
Congrats on the juicy bonus! Cruwl
What would you guys use as DD as far as bank or other option goes? what has worked?>
