Hello Friend

Back at it!  Diving into the Stash can be fun.  For Retro Rubber, a challenge blog that loves older stamps, I came across a stamp set, Hello Friend (circa 2017) that had not seen any ink.  In fact, an older wood set that had not yet been mounted.  So, it is now in service.

Today’s combination includes: The Creative Colour (#137) palette with the Retro Rubber (#288) sketch.

Here is the result:

HELLO FRIENS (2017) – SPOTLIGHT ON NATURE DIES _ MASTERFULLY MADE DSP – CCC137 – RRCB228

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Coastal Cabana cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Corner Panels: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Fresh Freesia Leaf patterned piece of paper from the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The Panel was diagonally cut at (1½”) on each side to create the center diagonal space.
  • Shape – Circle: (4” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Wreath image was stamped with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Pecan Pie ink.
    • The Mini Floral Strand image was stamped around the Wreath with Fresh Freesia ink.
    • The Mini Leaf image was randomly stamped around the Wreath with Coastal Cabana ink.
    • The greeting, Thinking of my friend today, was stamped in the center of the Wreath with Fresh Freesia ink.
    • The Wreath was then die-cut with the (3¼”) Petal Edged Circle die from the new Spotlight on Natures Dies set. (Available May 1st.)

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Circle Wreath was popped up with Dimensionals.

It is fun to see how the “old” marries with the “new”.  The Leaf shapes in the patterned paper echo those in the Wreath.  The combination is so pretty.  Nice Spring colors for a lovely friendship card.
