Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Plaid Pine Trees for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  Please be sure to visit everyone’s blog  to see the great projects they are sharing with you this week.  My project today features the the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set and coordinating Pine Tree Punch, the ‘Tis the Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and the Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ DSP .  We are all working with a Color Challenge this week.  Here’s my card:

And here are the colors for the challenge we are using this week (pick at least 3):

I’m also joining the Paper Players Clean-and-Simple Challenge: PP517

Hooray for Holidays, indeed!  I’m so ready to celebrate – how about you?  The colors I used for the challenge are Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White and a touch of Garden Green.

Stamp the sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set on a panel of Whisper White Thick card stock with Cherry Cobbler ink.  Use a border die from the Peony Dies to cut a strip from a Gold Foil Sheet.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to add the scalloped strip under the bottom edge of the panel.  Adhere the remaining piece under the top edge of the panel revealing about 1/16″.

Use the Pine Tree Punch to crop some trees from ‘Tis the Season and Classic Christmas 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper.  The plaid tree and Cherry Cobbler tree are adhered to the panel with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The tree punched from the Classic Christmas DSP is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  (Color the berries with a Cherry Cobbler Dark Stampin’ Blends marker first.)

Add gold star embellishments from the Most Wonderful Time Medley to the top of each tree.  Add three small Gilded Gems to the accent tree and one medium Gilded Gem above the sentiment.  Use Liquid Glue to adhere a strip of Classic Christmas DSP to the front of a Basic Black card base, about 1/4″ up from the bottom edge.  Then adhere the art piece to the card front with Glue.

Use Cherry Cobbler ink to stamp the sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set to the Whisper White inside panel.  Use Liquid Glue to adhere a tree punched from Classic Christmas DSP to the panel before adhering it to the inside of the card.

Another card ready to send out to spread some cheer.  We need that!  Are you making more cards this year?  I know I am.
