Does the free hotel breakfast have vegan options?

      A:

You can adjust a menu like remove eggs cheese sausage. They did have a proper oatmeal with brown sugar raisins fruit and toast (to replace the butter croissant) I guess you can say that was vegan. It was also a generous amount.

I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Santa Fe. I love the New Mexican charm here. The staff are impeccably courteous and really seem to care if you are having a pleasant stay.

The rooms have a lot of locally themed art and even things like the ice bucket and tissue box are hammered metal for extra ambiance. Breakfast is included in your stay and it's NOT one of those cheapy continental breakfasts where the eggs are watery and Greece is dripping off a pan of overcooked sausages. It's made to order and in my opinion it's just the right serving size

Oh and if you're here don't forget to join other guests in the lobby for nightly sherry served with cinnamon sugar cookies, nuts, and dried fruits.

Nice spacious room in the Governors wing.

We really enjoyed our stay here.

      The pluses:

Very nice staff -- everyone we met was friendly and helpful.

Good location very near the Plaza.

      Free parking.

      Free made-to-order breakfast.

Very fun welcoming treat of cookies and sherry.

Nice, clean room with a comfortable bed.

      Adorable decor.

Filtered water available in the lobby which we helped ourselves to often.

The restaurant -- in addition to providing free breakfast, Del Charro is a popular night spot and we had drinks and snacks here a couple nights.

Heated pool (we didn't use it though.)

Lovely comfortable welcoming lobby. People were often sitting in the lobby handing out or playing cards or games.

      The minuses:

Room was a bit dated/worn down and on the small side -- this was not at all a problem for us, but might be for others. For us, the cuteness of the decor made up for the slightly run-down vibe. I mention it only because many people expect a "brand new" vibe when they travel.

Very weak water pressure. I have extremely thick hair so this is often a deal-breaker for me at hotels. It might not matter to people with less hair! But for me, whether I return to an otherwise very nice hotel hinges on being able to wash and rinse my hair thoroughly. It was very very hard to wash my hair here.

Wood burning fireplace -- I had lots of allergies throughout the trip and the hallway in our part of the hotel often smelled like smoke. Our rental car got covered in ash. I'd assumed that it would be a gas fireplace and I'm not sure with the smoke I'd come back, but others might find love the romance of a wood burning fireplace.

We really, really liked the hotel! If the "minuses" don't bother you, there are many more "pluses" and reasons to stay here!

Great location, amazing customer service and a nice place to stay!

We were driving through Santa Fe in route to Colorado and needed an overnight accommodation.
This cute and quaint hotel was a pleasant surprise!

As we drove up, we were greeted by Mike, the friendliest bell captain you will ever meet. The front desk staff was equally enthusiastic and welcoming to all guests. You are also given a sherry sampler tray with biscochittos (official state cookie!). Yum.

The rooms were clean and warm, which we needed on a cold night. The beds were comfortable too.

The location is stellar and walking distance from many downtown attractions. This helped us maximize our time while in Santa Fe.

We had a lovely stay and hope you do too.

      Super cute place.

      Great location.

      Nice indigenous art.

Having said that * extreme Larry David voice.

      The wifi does not work.

They stuck me in the dungeon below everything and neither my phone or computer can get a signal which is kinda bad when you have zooms for work.

I tried the lobby and "computer room" as well.

They should advertise that they don't have wifi bc it caused a bit of a problem for ya boi.

      The pros-
      Great location
      Comfortable rooms in local decor
      Fireplaces in each room
      Great staff- friendly & helpful
Free Booze and Cookies at check-in
Awesome included breakfast- the huevos rancheros were spectacular, and everything cooked to order
      Heated Pool open year round
      Parking included
      The Cons-
      Not Cheap
While having a fireplace in each room is really cool, it did give the entire hotel a camp-fire smell
Even the suite with the sofabed gets pretty cramped for a family of 4

After living in Santa Fe for a few years in the 2000s, it's always felt weird staying in a hotel when I visit. Fortunately, Inn of the Governors lived up to its stellar reputation for us over a few days on Spring Break. This place hit all the right notes for comfort, location, decor, and service. 4.5 stars.

      ROOM
While some have balconies and kiva fireplaces, we had the standard setup. Beds were comfy, pillows soft, and the decor made this former Santa Fean feel right at home. One yardstick for me in gauging a hotel are the towels. Ours were among the softest/most absorbent offered us in a long time, better than the Bellagio's. Big props.
      LOCATION
The Plaza's two blocks away and nothing in the touristy area area requires more than a short walk.
      PARKING
It's private, fenced in, free and spacious, with both covered and open air spots wide enough for gapers in oversized SUVs to back in and get out without denting cars next to them.
      SERVICE
Hotel staff blew me away with alacrity & courtesy. We felt welcome and appreciated. Everyone--front desk, bellhops, maids, and janitors--offered a friendly greeting and seemed genuinely willing to help.
      DEL CHARRO SALOON & BREAKFAST
Free breakfast is made to order in the hotel restaurant. While the menu's short, the food was solid. Book directly w the hotel to get a $15/day credit for lunch or dinner. It's open late, a rarity in SFe. I had a delicious green Chile cheeseburger late one night at the bar--gratis. One gripe--service here was lackluster. Our impatient breakfast waiter gave sharp, one word answers and never came back to check on us. The nighttime bartender was courteous when he noticed me, but seemed more focused on commiserating with other locals about tourists. This may be the ultimate "local's" experience, btw...
      POOL
It's advertised as heated to 86 degrees and open year-round. It was open. However, the water was too cold for comfort. I needed a hat and was cold if anything but my head broke the surface. My son, who was more excited about the hotel pool than anything else in town, was crushed. He simply couldn't tolerate the cold outside in such tepid water. Boo. Also, if it's cold out, there's no changing room when you're finished--choose betwen a chilly rush to dress poolside or run dripping inside to the lobby bathroom.

Overall, we loved Inn of the Governors and would not hesitate to stay there again. We just won't count on using the pool if it's cold out.

First time visiting Santa Fe and we booked our stay at the Inn of the Governors! We loved staying here. The hotel is in the perfect location and you can walk the entire old town area. I loved the style and decor so much. Our room had a fireplace and we loved using it our final night! We will definitely stay here again. Such a cool hotel.

Repeat customer and customer no more. Breakfast staff took liberty of modifying my tip up after dining. Customer care and experience overall was not great. Additionally they no longer clean room until after you've checked out. I will not stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Inn of the Governors, charming hotel in the middle of all Santa Fe. Wonderful location, it's easy and close to walk to the Plaza, some museums, Canyon Road, shops, restaurants.

The Yelp check in doesn't work, you won't get chips and guac at restaurant due to Covid!

We got a King bed room, nice decor with local cultural touches, very comfortable and it has everything you need: fridge, coffee - maker, hair dryer.
TV had some issues and the package is poor, but we didn't visit Santa Fe to watch TV! Just browsed the local channel for visitors.
The water has pressure issues in the morning, it'd turn cold suddenly, but it's summer so we're cool.

You ask for maid service when you want it during Covid, we did a few times to get towels and extra toiletries.

Comfy room and not a noisy hotel comparing to others we stayed at!

Upon check in you get a cute tray with 2 types of sherry, dried fruits and nuts and biscochitos, the local cinnamon cookies, a must try!
I've heard that normally they have a Happy Hour at the reception with this kind of treats daily, not during Covid! (sad faces!).
      We enjoyed the welcoming gift!

The lobby is cute and has a water fountain with filtered water, plastic cups to bring to your room or fill your bottle before you go!
The pool is on the small size, but a cute area.

Breakfast is included, delicious variants on eggs: scrambled, omelette-s, huevos rancheros, breakfast tacos, the lighter side: oatmeal, eggs, fruit cup, croissant/gluten free muffin. You won't go hungry! Great coffee and orange juice! Tried the grapefruit juice and it was OK. No buffet, they just take your order. Nice breakfast to start your day!

You also get a $15 credit to Del Charro, the restaurant next door and we used it for dinner a couple of times (nice meals) and room service - dessert or a drink and it's a nice perk! It worked well for us!

      Free parking on the premises!

Nice decor, cute flowers everywhere, great staff, James was fantastic, but everyone was nice, friendly and accommodating!

Cute hotel in downtown Santa Fe, nice stay, great location, cool perks! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
