In purely pragmatic terms, he is his own worst enemy. No matter his substantial
and significant achievements (e.g., the nomination itself), he has no
self-control and allows his emotions to drive his actions.
If the Kavanaugh nomination
sinks we’ll never know if last night’s Mississippi indulgence contributed (or how much),
but it certainly did not help.
When one’s friends find fault and eschew the
customary excuses and apologies, it’s clear that one done wrong.

Because of a few minutes of revealed lack of self-esteem and its
handmaid insecurity, who knows what may have been lost to the Court, the
Constitution, and our Republic?
