Stamp Review Crew - Free As A Bird

https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2019/07/FAB.html

Welcome to the first Monday of the month... and another Stamp Review Crew hop! (How can it already be JULY?!) The "Crew" is made up of a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world who pick a stamp set or bundle to highlight on the first and third Mondays of each month, with a bonus hop if there is a fifth Monday. Today we are featuring Free As A Bird, which was right at the top of my "must have" list! If you just came from Dawn Tidd's blog, Tiddbits From Dawn, you can continue on by clicking the "Next" button below. If you want to go back and admire Dawn's projects again, just click "Previous"!

Heart's Delight Cards, Free As A Bird, Bird Ballad, Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Stampin' Up!, 2019-2020 Annual Catalog,

Free As a Bird is part of the Bird Ballad Suite found on page 91 of the 2019 Stampin' Up! annual catalog. It's a 12 piece red rubber cling stamp set, and can be bundled with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies for a 10% discount. The whole suite is simply lovely, from the trinket embellishments to the lace trim, to the absolutely beautiful Bird Ballad DSP, which is what I used on both cards!

This first card was made for a local stamping buddy of mine and her husband. I stamped the word "happy" from A Wish for Everything in Versamark ink on a Crumb Cake card base, then added a strip of Pretty Peacock DSP (Woven Threads).

The frame was made using the Heirloom Frames Dies & 3D Embossing Folders. After cutting the frame, I held it over various parts of the DSP to find the "picture" I wanted. So many sweet bird images, so hard to choose!

After gluing it to the back of the frame, it was adhered to the card with dimensionals. The greeting (also from A Wish for Everything) was stamped and then cut with Classic Label Punch. A bit of linen thread, colored with Pretty Peacock Light Stampin' Blend, for a bow and a few pearls completed the card.

The next card was also made for a local stamping buddy! I was so blessed to find new friends after we moved to Tennessee, who have the same addiction passion for all things stampy - we enable each other a lot, LOL!

A piece of Bird Ballad DSP was adhered to a Soft Suede mat, and then to a Whisper White mat before attaching it to the Petal Pink card base.

The bird was stamped in Memento ink and colored with Stampin' Blends, then cut with one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. A scrap of Soft Suede was cut with a smaller die and adhered to the back. After trimming off the left side of the image panel, some Mossy Meadow Linen Thread (Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack) was wrapped around, a double bow was added, and it was adhered to the card.
