A few months ago I made a Chocolate Cherry Cake that used chocolate cake mix and cherry pie filling. It was so good and so easy to make! I started thinking about other flavor combinations and decided to try yellow cake and apple pie filling. The result? Awesome! I topped the cake with a quick cinnamon glaze. We couldn’t get enough of this cake. It was especially good heated with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.

ingredients:

Cake

• 1 box yellow cake mix
• 1 (21-oz) can apple pie filling
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• ½ tsp cinnamon
• 2 eggs
• ¼ cup milk

Frosting

• 2 cups powdered sugar
• ¼ tsp cinnamon
• ⅓ cup milk

instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9×13 inch pan. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, apple pie filling, vanilla extract, cinnamon, eggs and milk. Mix with an electric mixer just until combined.
3. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
4. Whisk together powdered sugar, cinnamon and milk. Pour over warm cake. Allow cake to cool completely before serving.5
