Welcome to Sunday Sketches SSO31 by Stamps to Die For.
Each Sunday I post a card sketch along with a card I created using the sketch. Sketches often help get my creativity fired up.
I created this card for last week's Color Your World International Blog Hop and then decided to set it aside. As often times happens after looking at it a bit I decided it wasn't so bad and I loved the way it folded differently so I thought I could use it for Sunday Sketches. This is one of those times I create the card and then the sketch.
For the card base I used the Thick Whisper White cardstock 6" x 5 1/2" folded in half to create a 3" x 5 1/2" card front. I am excited to say Very Vanilla will have an optional Thick too in the New 2017 Annual Catalog! Love using this firmer cardstock for the card bases.
The stamps I used for today's card are from the Number of Years stamp set with coordinating Large Number Framelits. I like how the numbers don't stamp solid giving a bit of dimension. I stamped them in Basic Gray and attached them with dimensionals to a Smoky Slate 2 7/8" circle I cut out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and Big Shot. LOVE LOVE LOVE the stitched shapes if you hadn't noticed.
The polka dot paper (2 1/4" x 5 1/4") is from the Naturals Designer Series Paper Stacks.
Happy is stamped in Basic Black and the ribbon is the retiring 1/8" Stitched Smoky Slate Ribbon.
This card will fit into our Medium Envelopes for mailing. Hope this fun fold sketch will inspire you to stamp a card.
