Coming off its win on as the best airline app on day one of the show EasyJet announced a significant upgrade to the platform. The company will launch Voice First integration later this month, allowing customers to generate bookings through a natural language conversation. The service will launch on iOS in English and is expected to expand to Android and the other six languages the apps support in due course.
Inflight connectivity is getting a boost on the ground. SkyFive, spun off earlier this year from Nokia, is looking to stretch the LTE cellular technology that powers the EAN network in Europe to other markets around the globe, with one already built and in test mode and more to come.
TAP Portugal presented on the updated IFE system deployed on the new A330neo and A321LR aircraft. Built on the Panasonic Avionics eX3 platform, it features a custom UI designed to draw passengers in to explore rather than just use it as a media player. With some nifty personalization features, like play lists that travel from flight to flight, the carrier saw a doubling of net promoter scores with the new IFE system in play.
Finally details about Air Canada‘s revamped Aeroplan loyalty program are starting to trickle out. Transparency is a key focus according VP Loyalty & E-commerce Mark Nasr, both on the earn and burn side. That means a hybrid redemption program, with some markets revenue-based and some sticking to published award charts.
