- One of the characters, Forky, is suicidal, due to his constant attempts of trying to put himself in the trash to die, all of them failing. While this is played for laughs, the context maybe upsetting for some.
- One of the toys, Duke Caboom is shown to have a dark and depressing backstory, since he got abandoned by his owner on the very same day he got him. Duke is shown very distraught here and briefly suffers from an emotional breakdown. This scene is emotional, and might sadden some viewers.
