Easter Gift Bag and Cute Tag

Easter is a little over a week away and–since we're all stuck at home–why not make up some fun Easter goodies? I've created this super cute gift bag with coordinating Happy Easter tag using Elizabeth Craft Designs dies and stamps, and sharing a brief tutorial below. I'm joined with several other designers over on the ECD blog today, so be sure to hop over there and check out even more ideas.

Take a look at the easy steps to make this yourself then scroll to the end for a complete list and links to all the products I've used.

I've used bright and cheerful papers from Graphic 45's Time To Celebrate collection. First, die cut the tag shown (Planner Essentials 4) several times from different papers. I used ivory cardstock for the base of mine, and trimmed 5/8" off the bottom of the peach polka-dot tag. Die cut three flower-shaped hole reinforcers (Planner Essentials Reinforcement Variety Pack). The mint colored piece measures 2 5/16" x 2 1/2". Die cut the word Easter (Planner Essentials 23) saving the bits from the E's and the A.

Layer the pieces onto your base tag, gluing the bits from the E's and A into place. Stamp the word Happy (CS091 Spring Sentiments) above Easter.

To help the word Easter stand out better, I drew a drop shadow with a fine point Sharpie pen.

Die cut the bunny's head and the carrot (1459 Bunny) and shade the pieces as desired with inks then assemble and adhere with dimensional foam tape to pop them up. I've added another flower hole reinforcement to the top of this tag and tie two strands of waxed ivory twine.

Die cut the rose (Planner Essentials 6) from two different coordinating papers.

Onto a piece of ivory cardstock, adhere the outline shape first, then fill in the inside pieces. Trim out the rose leaving a 1/8" border.

Create a simple gift bag. There are several ways to do this. I've used Lori Whitlock's Gift Bag SVG file, but you could also use the Gift Bag Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers, make your own from cardstock. Here's a great tutorial if you need one. Or you can always use an existing bag and decorate it how you like.

I've added these plaid accent pieces to dress up the bag further and to give it more stability.

Attach your rose and tag to the front of the bag, add ribbons for handles and you're done! You may notice I've added more of those flower shaped hole reinforcers to my bag. It just dresses things up even more.

Thanks for checking it out. Don't forget to check out the other designers' ideas over on the ECD blog today.
