Love the texture on this folder. I couldn't seem to get the folder to go through the Spellbinders platinum machine, but worked great on my Cuttle Bug.
If any one knows how to get it to go through the spellbinders I would love to know how?. But all and all it is has a deep emboss, I found heavy card stock to work best. Mist the paper first to relax the paper fibers. Thin card stock paper warps to much.
I have used this folder a number of times since receiving it. It gives the perfect "woody" texture. Add some distress inks and voila! Wood! Important to mist your paper first. And you may need to experiment with the sandwich for your particular die machine. So worth the time to get it just right.
This 3d embossing folder is S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G. !!! I watched the videos on lightly misting my paper before using and the detail captured is gorgeous, rich and makes crafting just plain old fun again!!! I almost get giddy going back over my embossed paper with dylusions shimmer sprays, gilding paste, embellishment or expanding mousse or whatever I get my hands on to create depth.. Just a blast digging in and seeing where this can take me as I learn how fun it is to get my fingers dirty again!!!
It’s a great addition to my embossing folders. Such texture it’s amazing. I watched the video explaining to mist the paper first and it made a big difference. Im trying out all colors of paper and inks to swipe over the raised areas.
This folder makes paper look like wood! I am using it in faux wood plank project and it is so realistic! Love it.
This is an amazing product. You put in the embossing folder a piece of cardstock (in my case) and it comes out looking like a piece of lumber, woow! . Excellent product. The quality of the material of this embossing folder is great.

This is the real deal.. super high embossing pattern in paper. i find it works best on heavy card stock. love it and definitely recommend it for your special wood looking projects, especially 3-D projects where you want a super high embossed pattern.
Wow great folder. The wood looks so real. Forgot to mist paper first time. Whoops. Big difference when misted. I use Kraft cardstock makes it easier to blend the distress oxides to get the perfect colors. Wow. Love this folder.
Have not used this for a card yet but have a project in mind. THis is better than what i expected when i ordered it. Very textured just like wood would look. I am really liking it. Glad i purchased this Embossing folder.
This is so rich looking when embossed - i just love it! But be careful only used one plate when embossing like he says or it will rip. I will use it a lot and will soon be one of my favorites.

Yes. Check the website for the correct "sandwich. " I've had no problems going between my bigshot & cuddlebug. Try running several test pieces first--you may need to adjust with shims (additional cardstock under the plates. Also, check out YouTube or Tom Holtz for tips in getting good embossing impressions. I lightly mist water on some of my cardstock and end up getting phenomenal impressions. Hope this helps.

Can any of the Sizzix embossing dies be used to emboss leather (i.e. for earrings or bracelets)?

Unfortunately, embossing folders would likely not leave a noticeable impression on leather.
