Orly Velvet Dream

I really haven’t seen many nail polish ranges that have caught my eye this year – one or two (Essie springs to mind) but far less than other years. It’s a while since I’ve played around with Orly but I’m certainly liking the Velvet Dream collection. I’ve got three shades – calling my name straight away is the middle colour; a greyed not-quite-lavender cream called November Fog. I wear a lot of black, cream and grey jumpers in winter (not all at once!) so I always try and imagine what nail colours will look like against those and if they’ll bring some interesting colour contrast. I honestly can’t wait to get November Fog onto my nails!

The golden shade that you can see is called Velvet Kaleidoscope and it’s a shade shifting gold with pink/lilac aspects. I have another swatch that shows it a bit better. The red shade is Just Bitten and although it looks burgundy in the bottle it’s not as dark when it’s on the nail unless you take the coats up.

You can definitely see the shift coming though. I feel that the Velvet Dream collection is a good mix – there are three other shades too, including a petrol blue colour called Blue Suede which is lovely and I find Orly polish reliably smooth on application and very durable. They’re £11 HERE (with a free gift offer if you buy two Orly products).
