The Post-9/11 GI Bill: Beneficiaries, Choices, and Cost
Presentation
Presentation by Elizabeth Bass, an analyst in CBO’s National Security Division, at the Annual Conference of the Western Economic Association International.
Beginning August 1, 2009, the Post-9/11 GI Bill extended educational benefits to service members who were on active duty in the military on or after September 11, 2001. This presentation provides an overview of CBO’s findings from a recent report, highlighting how eligible veterans and their family members use those benefits and which types of institutions they attend.
