S. 1662 would modify the boundary of the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area in Illinois to include an additional county and two cities. It also would require the National Park Service (NPS) to update its map of the heritage area to reflect the boundary adjustment.
Based on information from the NPS, CBO estimates that implementing S. 1662 would have no significant impact on the agency’s costs, which would be subject to appropriation. Enacting the legislation would have no effect on direct spending or revenues; therefore, pay-as-you-go procedures do not apply.
CBO estimates that enacting S. 1662 would not increase net direct spending or on-budget deficits in any of the four consecutive 10-year periods beginning in 2027.
S. 1662 contains no intergovernmental or private-sector mandates as defined in the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act and would impose no costs on state, local, or tribal governments.
