Christmas Art of My Granddaughter’s

Hello, crafting friends! It has been years since I last posted to my site and I’m posting today at the request of my very special and precious 9-year old granddaughter, Mikayla. I spent time crafting with her for Christmas, and she asked that I post her work on my site. Therefore, I am granting her request by sharing her beautiful pieces of artwork. I love crafting with her as she is so creative and I am so proud of her and her work. The photo below is the first of three pieces of her work.

She made the above piece of art starting with a piece of cardstock that was embossed with the Spellbinders Scenic Poinsettias 3D Embossing Folder. Using the Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and a blending brush, she covered selected poinsettias in blue. The leaves and center poinsettia were colored with markers. She added three Spellbinders buttons on the front and wrote, “Merry Christmas” on the back of the cardstock.

Her second piece of art is a small snowman’s head made from a Tealight Candle to which she added a snowman hat, eyes, smile and a metallic thread around the hat. It is so cute when the light is on. She made this for her little brother.

She made her third piece of art for her little sister. It is a floral bouquet. She made the floral stems with flowers I had made years ago from Heartfelt Creations products, and adhered the flowers to wooden dowels. She inserted the floral stems into a funnel-shaped piece of cardstock that she made.

I hope you enjoy her art as much as I do! I am sure she would be excited to receive comments on her work! Any comment will be visible upon approval.

Winter Birds and Bird Feeder

Winter Birds and Bird Feeder

Hi, friends, and welcome back!  I so appreciate your visit.  Today I am sharing a card I made in response to an Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The hostess of the challenge, Stacy (jbgreendawn) provided a wonderful website for the Inspiration Challenge; an ETSY Birdhouse site.  There are so many wonderful items on this site from which to choose as an inspiration piece.  I selected several, started cards, and decided I wanted to browse the site again.  I’m glad I did as I found this beautiful canvas of “Winter Birds and Bird Feeder” that inspired me to draw the scene on my card.

This is my inspiration piece:

This is my card:

John 12:35

“Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Those who walk in the dark do not know where they are going.”

Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers

Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers

Hello, friends!  I hope your week has been great thus far.  Today I am sharing with you a card I made yesterday for a color challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  The hostess’ color combination is Stampin’ Up! colors of Rich Razzleberry, Mango Melody, and Granite Gray and a dessert option to add designer series paper.  I used the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers stamp set to create my card and colored the image with Copic Sketch Markers closely related to these colors.

Joshua 1:9:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.  Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Key To My Heart Valentine Box

Key To My Heart Valentine Box

Welcome back, my friends!  I greatly appreciate you stopping by.  I have not posted a project since December 24. and I am finding it difficult to create after the holidays.  My desire has decreased.  Have you experienced this?

To try to get inspired, I am responding to a Color Challenge on Splitcoaststampers today.  For the challenge, the hostess selected the Stampin’ Up! colors of Real Red, Powder Pink, and Silver.  She also selected “hearts” as “dessert”.

Ephesians 5:1

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
