Google + Shut Down is Imminent - What You Need to Know

Goodbye Google Plus -red logo on white backgroundGoogle Plus (G+) has been on the decline for quite a while. Many business pages were devalued and deleted by Google for disuse in the past year. Google has announced that Google Plus profiles will be shutting down for good on April 2 of this year.

If you have data in your G+ profile or business page that you would like to save, you do have that option. Use this LINK to download your Google+ circles, Communities, Streams, and +1’s. If you want to save data from a G+ business page, make sure to sign in as the page before you proceed with the download. To do that, when you sign in, first choose the blue Google Account button, then choose your Brand account.
Here are the instructions to download your G+ data:

  1. Go to the Download your data page. You might have to sign in. Your available Google+ data will be preselected.
  2. If you don't want to download all of the data, uncheck the pieces you do not want to retain.Choose the G+ pieces you want to save
  3. Click Next.
  4. Choose a file type. We recommend choosing .ZIP, as this is easy to open on most computers.

        This can be via email link, Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft OneDrive.

After your download is complete, you will get an email to the account you use to sign in to Google. If Google wasn't able to download all of the data. you will be notified in that email.

You will now have permanent access to your Google + content. You must take these steps before April 2, as after that date, you will not be able to download the data.
