A Stitched Christmas Star for All Year Long

Crafty peeps! It's Die Cut Obsession Day on the Impression Obsession blog. It's the day we celebrate all things die-cutting. And today I want to share an adorable stitched die cut star that looks perfect at Christmas time, but it's a die you'll use for all kinds of handmade cards, all year long!

The Primitive Stitched Star has a few fabulous things going for it: it's BIG, perfect for filling a card base, it has darling stitched details, and it's great for Christmas. . . and birthdays. . . .and congratulations . . .and all occasion cards too!

Today's first card is ALL Christmas, because after all, today is a Christmas edition of Die Cut Obsession Day. Two simple dies, on an embossed background, and this card is basically done. That makes it a great option for mass-producing Christmas cards! Easy peasy! I added a twine bow, and a few coordinating sequins, but wouldn't this card still be super cute if you needed to keep it a little more simple? You could also customize it with a patterned paper in the background instead of embossing.

Next, I did something a little different with the Primitive Stitched Star. I die cut it a few times with different shades of pink cardstock. Then I created a background with it. It only takes a few stars to cover it, because often you can use parts of the same star to fill the space. Next, just die cut a vellum circle, and add a fun birthday sentiment die cut on top. The Birthday Words die set is perfect for adding a variety of birthday related words to handmade cards and crafts. The words can be mixed and matched for lots of cute possibilities.

Look at This Happy Joyful Die-cut Christmas Card

Hello there my crafty peeps! Summer is winding down around my house, and school is about to start. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but I thought I'd share a little holiday card making today. It's not too early, right? Today is Die Cut Obsession Day on the Impression Obsession blog so let's take a look at some fresh Christmas cheer, with a couple fabulous dies and just one simple stamped sentiment.

Have a Happy Joyful Cheerful Peaceful Lovely Merry Christmas - handmade holiday card making idea with Impression Obsession stamps and diecutting #iostamps #christmascards
This card begins with a beautiful sentiment, called Happy Joyful. I love this stamp because it's not too big and not too small, and the sentiment is the perfect balance between classic and traditional but with a little bit of whimsy! Plus, I love how perfectly it fits into the die-cut frame.

After the framed sentiment was ready to go, I adhered it onto a white embossed card base and then started the fun part - arranging the greenery. (It's almost as fun as arranging real Christmas greenery!) The Winter Foliage die set is made up of 18 different dies. They all come attached together, and rather than cut them apart, I keep them all as one die so that I can cut a whole bunch of pieces at one time and have them ready to play with.

A few simple embellishments finished off this card, and I think the whole thing feels like sort of a fresh twist on a classic idea. And now - it's your turn. Want to dive into some of your favorite dies and CREATE? Maybe it's time to start thinking about holiday cards and crafts! Over on the IO blog, you'll find links to all of the designers participating in Die Cut Obsession Day, and I'm sure you'll find all kinds of inspiration!

This card is pretty clean, simple, and straightforward. It's fresh and bright and it makes me happy! I did a bit of diecutting and then began assembling bits and pieces together. You might remember the Winter Foliage die set from previous projects, because I've used it a lot. It's the perfect addition and accent for all types of winter crafts.

I love them, and I hope you do too! Let's take a look. . .I love to pair cute patterned paper with a simple sentiment, whether die-cut or stamped. It's an easy way to mass-produce cards for gifts, or knock out all your Christmas cards - plus, who DOESN'T have a never-ending stash of adorable patterned paper? Both of these first cards are a pretty typical layout for me - one of my go-to designs, but it's tried and true and always looks cute, so why mess with it?

On the next card, I made the text the ENTIRE focus of the card. Before I created any of today's cards, I just did some die-cutting in the colors I wanted to focus on. To pull this card together, I simply mixed and matched words until they all fit, and then added the hearts to fill in as needed. A strip of patterned paper and washi along the bottom tied it all together. For all of today's cards, I used two die sets that I turn to OVER AND OVER. Typewriter Sentiments and Love Words play so nicely together, and they are some of my most used dies this time of year.

There's nothing better than a cozy cup of coffee or tea when the weather is cold! Today is Day 2 of Impression Obsession's October release blog hop, and there are so many fun products to share with you! Here on my blog, we're all about the COFFEE today! Both of the coffee cup dies (Coffee & Cocoa as well as Coffee To Go) have been dies I've turned to again and again, and I am excited about the brand new Christmas Coffee Sayings stamp set to bring some fresh inspiration to these dies!

My first card today is kind of collage-y and fun, using the oh-so-cute Coffee To Go die set. (I stamped the background using the new Make a Wish stamp set - soooo fun!) The cute little sentiment is embossed to finish off this card.
My second card is SUPER clean and simple, featuring simple coffee mugs. It's sort of a play on Christmas colors, because sometimes. . .subtle or unexpected is just right. This would be a fun card to send to a friend in December, but not necessarily as "An Official Christmas Card" - know what I mean? And since I had an extra mug cut out, I popped it onto a die-cut tag just for an extra little something!

The brand new Christmas Coffee Sayings sentiment stamps are sized just right for cards and tags, and I love the cute font!

Here are the important details on the new release blog hop:

  • Check the Impression Obsession blog each day, October 15-16 for links to NEW inspiration featuring the new  stamps, dies, and more!
  • THREE lucky winners will be chosen from the comments to win a $25 gift certificate from Impression Obsession, so the more you comment through our celebration the more chances to win!
  • Comments for each post will be open until Friday October 21 at 8pm CSTWinners will be announced the next day on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Make a Joyful Christmas Card With Die-cut Winter Foliage

Hello friends! I've had such fun with Christmas cards lately, therefore I have another one to share today!  It's hard to NOT get crazy with Christmas crafts because I have all these brand new Impression Obsession dies in my hot little crafty hands. Today's project features two die sets that I know I'm going to use a LOT.

(This post contains affiliate links. When you shop through my links, I'll receive compensation at no cost to you - thank you from the bottom of my crafty heart!)

As you can see, I can't stop with the buffalo check on Christmas cards either. SorryNotSorry.
Today's card begins with a panel of buffalo check and them a little mix and match die-cutting action. The Winter Foliage Dies include a great array of leaves and greenery (foliage, duh) to add to projects. All the little bits will make a great wreath or focal point on a card, but they are also the perfect accent to other images. On this card, they take center stage along with a beautiful JOY die-cut sentiment.
The Winter Foliage die set was really easy to work with because I left the dies all attached to each other and die-cut it a few times on different shades of green cardstock. Then I was able to mix and match the pieces and layer them up to create some clusters of greenery. I tucked them here and there along with the sentiment, plus a white circle to give some contrast and a landing place for it all.

The white enamel dots add balance with the pop of WHITE, and the twine and splatter of FSJ Gold Silk help tie the whole card together.
Today's post is part of Impression Obsession's Die Cut Obsession Blog Hop. The design team is sharing die cutting magic today, so head over to the IO blog to begin, or use the links below! I can't wait to see what they've each created for today!
