Awesome Assam
Our current issue's feature article,
Awesome Assam,
July-August-September 2017, is a resounding hit. Readers love it, and for good reason.
First, it is a fine introduction to a part of India most of us knew little about. Yes, Assam, the land of the mighty Brahmaputra that figures so prominently in Indian lore of old, is not widely known today. But, for our lucky readers, the gap has been filled. Thanks to masterful exploration and exposition by star-team reporter Rajiv Malik and photographer Thomas Kelly, we discover a land and a people with a big heart and a beautiful spirit.

Our publisher's vision, part one
“It is among the youth that the current trend of growing interest in Hinduism began. Now, it permeates all age groups. And it is evident around the globe. As the trend continues to grow, so will the demand for a clear, objective and authoritative voice."
"We thank our generous readers for having greatly invigorated the Hinduism Today Production Fund over the past few years,” shared publisher Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami. "It's been a great step forward that made it possible to produce fine articles more regularly, such as the one on Assam in the current issue.”
As a next increment, the publisher and his staff have set a hefty new goal—to build up the principal so that grants can one day
cover all of the magazine’s production costs.
“We are currently a long way from that, and we need to work toward it,” explains Satguru.

Hinduism Today seeks help
to weather mini-crisis
Jijjit Thukaram of London prepares to greet a visiting swami, 2016.
As you probably know, over the last three years, 2014-2016, investment returns from financial markets have been significantly smaller than normal. To compensate, Hindu Heritage Endowment has had to reduce grants for all its beneficiaries, including Hinduism Today's Production Fund. To make up for this temporary shortfall, a part of Production Fund contributions will be redirected to meet the magazine's ongoing production costs. The need is for $14,400 a year. Once that amount is reached for any given year, further donations received during the remainder of the year will be placed in the endowment as usual.
We naturally hope to reach that goal ASAP so that Production Fund donations can promptly return to strengthening that fund—which is critically important to Hinduism Today's future.
Your help in this regard is greatly appreciated. Thank you again.
