Located on 11.5 acres in Lanham Maryland, outside of Washington, D.C., the Murugan Temple of North America is of South Indian Agamic design and has Lord Murugan, Valli and Deivayani as the main deities. Other shrines include Sri Sundareswarar, Sri Meenakshi, Sri Palani Andavar, and Sri Valam-buri Vinayaka. This fund was created to insure the continuation of the daily pujas of the temple. The grants may be used for flowers, oil, milk, Deity clothes and ornaments, incense, kumkum, chandanam, vibuthi, oil lamps etc. When the fund principal reaches $300,000 the grant income may be used secondarily for priest expenses such as salaries, bonuses and pensions.
