Bodhinatha holds the newly published Guru Chronicles

A BIG BANG!
of new releases

Well, ok. "Big bang" might be a mite exaggerated. But not too much. We are having a huge outburst of light from Himalayan Academy as we release no less than four major publications at this time. See the details below.

At right, the publisher of Hinduism Today and satguru of Himalayan Academy , Bodhinatha, proudly shows the newly released Guru Chronicles , our most important and richest production since Gurudeva's Trilogy 10 years ago.

From our own humble and very subjective polls, more and more people want spiritual knowledge they can use. This burst of light is our response, which happily coincides with the holiday season. So, do go ahead and make some meaningful gifts to those who will appreciate them. And don't forget to be good to yourself, too .

The newly published Guru Chronicles
Step into the world
of the enlightened

Here are 800+ pages of extraordinary stories, quotes, anecdotes, and teachings from the successive gurus of one of Hinduism’s most respected spiritual lineages—going back 2,200 years.

The Guru Chronicles is educational, entertaining, humorous, delightful and it invites the reader to share in the rarified, ever blissful consciousness that was the ken of these accomplished ones. Their deeds and words grant insights into life itself, the ultimate purpose of it all, who we are, where we’re going and how we’ll get there. It is composed by the swamis of Kauai's Hindu Monastery, and contains hundreds of spectacular color illustrations by the immortal S.Rajam (small samples of his art are on the book's cover and in the background, in the picture above).

No question: this is one of Himalayan Academy's watershed publications. Get it. Give it. Read it. Tell the stories, share the gems of wisdom. Om.

The newly published History of Hindu India
Hinduism Today's
history textbook
for students of all ages

The editors of Hinduism Today, in collaboration with USA’s foremost historian of India, created The History of Hindu India , a comprehensive school textbook covering ancient to modern times. You may have seen the individudal lessons that have appeared one at a time in Hinduism Today over the past several years. Now they have been bound into this one volume, along with additional material.

Though nominally for schoolchildren, this cogent, pertinent, clear and concise work is much appreciated by adults also. Here is an accurate, fair, unbiased and engaging history of our religon—that is meant as an acceptable alternative to the often aberrant material offered in schools. As a sampler, watch a video of Hinduism Today publisher and managing editor speaking about the book's lesson three.

Some proactive souls have voluntered to introduce the book or the individual lessons in the form of booklets into their local school systems. If you'd like to do the the same, please contact us .

The newly published 14 questions booklet
Embarassing questions
no more!

The booklet, Ten Questions that People Ask About Hinduism and Ten Terrific Answers has been the most popular Himalayan Academy publication of the past decade.

Now, it includes four more questions and becomes 14 Questions People Ask... . These are golden answers to the common questions: why many Gods? do Hindus worship cows? why do the Gods sometimes have animal features? etc., etc. The answers are clear, lucid, compelling, and good to have well established in the mind, especially for children in a non-Hindu setting. Order them individually or in bulk .

Pancha Ganapati 2011!

December 21-25: Hindu holiday time!
Celebrate, rejoice with your family and friends, decorate the house, fawn over the children, exchange gifts and have a wonderful time. Just let Ganesha be the center of it all. You will love this holiday, the children will love you. And Ganesha will smile on all of you.

Hinduism Today founder, Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, said of this holiday, "Winter solstice has always been a festive time among Hindus, and a traditional season for the worship of Lord Ganesha. Pancha Ganapati is the Hindu expression of this season of worship, gift-giving and celebration." Read more about Pancha Ganapati here.
