No more embarassment in public school !
Our October-November-December 2008 issue offers:
An accurate and unbiased Hindu history for school children. Finally!
The principal feature of our new issue is a 16-page lesson covering Hindu history from 300 to 1100 ce.
In schools across the US, and elsewhere, the subject has most often been presented to children in a negative, even demeaning, manner. Good news is that parents and Hindu leaders are starting to object, sometimes through courts of law.
To furnish a proper alternative, Hinduism Today has started to publish a series of lessons from a Hindu point of view. A dozen top scholars in the field have participated in the effort and ultimately approved every word.
The current issue presents Lesson 2. Lesson 1, which covers ancient times to 300 ce, appeared in the April-May-June 2007 issue. They are for 10 to 12 year-olds.
Both lessons are available as booklets. See below.

a major upgrade
in teaching Hinduism
If you've used our 416-page book What Is Hinduism? for presenting to a group, you know how powerful a teaching tool it is. Now imagine that same exquisite material on video... It will be a breakthrough.
The Hinduism Today staff and top movie makers in India have spent a year crafting a pilot (available soon) which will set the tone for an eventual 47 (yes, 47!) 30-minute videos of Hindu philosophy, wisdom and esoteric and practical knowledge--all drawn from the highly praised What Is Hinduism?
Imagine: sometime in the near future, you come into your class, slip a DVD into the slot, and you let them delight in 30 minutes of captivating imagery, photography and sound track. Well, they won't miss the next class... Especially if they're youngsters.
We will keep you updated on progress, and inform you as they become available.

Youth inspiring youth
After years learning Hinduism from his father, today it was his turn. Karttikeya Katir, now 18, taught his first class in Hinduism.
Here he is presenting Hindu history Lesson 1 (from Hinduism Today, as described above) to summer camp participants in Pennsylvania.
He encouraged them to pass on the information and distribute the lessons (available as booklet reprints) whenever appropriate. If you feel inspired to join in this important educational project, order your individual or bulk copies here.
