Israel Tries to Save Jihad Terrorist’s Life as Palestinian Authority Pays His Family Because He Killed Israelis

Nasser Abu Hmeid is a Palestinian now behind bars for having murdered seven Israelis. While imprisoned, he developed lung cancer. The PA claims that the Israelis were deliberately employing “medical neglect” in his case and others. A report on this libel is here.

In contrast to the distorted and libelous PA picture, the reality couldn’t be more different.

While in prison, Abu Hmeid’s cancer is being treated with the utmost professionalism, and his mother, accompanied by one of her other children, was even being allowed to enter Israel to visit him in the Israeli hospital where he is receiving treatment, along with the terrorist’s brother:

Latifa Abu Hmeid: “Honestly, Nasser’s situation is severe, severe. In other words, yesterday [Jan. 7, 2022] when I saw him I said that this isn’t Nasser. … Nasser is in a coma and connected to 100 devices. … [I said] let me see him and touch him so he will feel that I am his mother who is inside [the prison]. [The guards said] no, impossible, in other words, from a distance of two meters. After we talked a while and so forth they capitulated a bit. In other words, we confirmed that it was Nasser.”

Abu Hmeid, as his mother recounted, was “connected to 100 devices.” Does that sound like a case of “medical neglect” or isn’t it, rather, conclusive evidence that Israeli doctors are pulling out all the stops to try to save the life of Abu Hmeid?

Basel Abu Hmeid, brother of Nasser Abu Hmeid: “My brother Nasser is currently in the Barzilai Hospital and is suffering from cancer. Of course, I saw him yesterday for 10 minutes. His situation was severe and even very severe.”

[Official PA TV News, Jan. 8, 2022]

Following the visit, PA TV broadcast a cartoon depicting Abu Hmeid as a lion, lying in a hospital bed, covered in a Palestinian flag, with his mother looking at him:

The cartoon does not show Abu Hmeid “connected to 100 devices” as his mother had recounted seeing; only one IV drip is shown. And instead of showing Israeli medical personnel in the room, tending to Abu Hmeid, the only Israelis shown are three thuggish-looking security guards.

Abu Hmeid was originally taken to the hospital in October 2021 to undergo an operation for lung cancer, but refused the operation because he rejected Israeli security measures meant to protect Israelis:

Nasser Abu Hmeid … was returned from the Israeli Barzilai Hospital to Ashkelon Prison on Wednesday [Sept. 29, 2021], after he refused to wait to have a surgery performed for him the next week, and this was in protest against the measures, restrictions, and stringencies that were implemented against him by the prison guards in the room. … It should be noted that prisoner Abu Hmeid from the Al-Amari refugee camp in Ramallah has been imprisoned since 2002, and he was sentenced to 7 life sentences and 50 years.

[Official PA TV News, Oct. 5, 2021]

It is the prisoner Abu Hmeid who was being recalcitrant. He initially refused to accept surgery, apparently in an attempt to have the security detail removed from his hospital room. In the end, the Israelis agreed to do so, in order that he would then consent to surgery, because the Israeli doctors were so determined to do everything they could to save the life of someone who had murdered seven Israelis.

Despite his refusal to accept the security precautions, Abu Hmeid underwent the operation he needed in November.

In December 2021, Abu Hmeid was again taken to Barzilai hospital. Refusing to acknowledge that lung cancer is often a fatal disease and that the post operation period is often fraught with complications, the PA-funded Prisoners’ Club claimed that the reason Abu Hmeid was taken back to hospital was because the surgeon who operated on Abu Hmeid was a “non-expert”:

Official PA TV newsreader: “The [PA-funded] Prisoners’ Club noted that prisoner Nasser Abu Hmeid was transferred to the Barzilai Hospital in severe health. The prisoner is suffering from the results of a surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his lung, which was performed in November [2021]. In the surgery a tube to remove air was implanted, but afterwards it became clear that a non-expert doctor implanted the tube in the wrong place. It should be noted that prisoner Abu Hmeid is one of five brothers who the occupation sentenced to life, and they have an additional brother who is a Martyr.”

[Official PA TV News, Dec. 5, 2021]…

The prisoner was not “suffering from the results of his surgery.” He was suffering because, most likely, not all of the cancer had been successfully removed; it may have metastasized and travelled to other organs. There are always post-surgical complications. Not all surgeries for lung cancer are successful, but that does not mean that we “blame the surgeon” for the continued malignancy of a disease that is so hard to treat, and so often proves fatal. No evidence was presented by the PA to support its made-up charge about a medical “mistake” – the supposed implanting of a tube “in the wrong place” inside Abu Hmeid. The PA, if it were half-way decent, ought to have recognized the heroic efforts of the Israeli doctors at Barzilai Hospital to save Abu Hmeid’s life. But they didn’t, and they won’t.

By December 2021, the total amount the Abu Hmeid family has managed to receive from the PA’s “Pay-For-Slay” program, a reward for the murderous deeds of the six sons (five are serving life terms, the sixth was killed during a manhunt), is $1,652,033 USD. Not a bad take, all in all. Who wants to be a millionaire?

No wonder Latifah Abu Hmeid was asked by Mahmoud Abbas to lead the request at the UN for the “State of Palestine” to be recognized. She’s the most famous mother in “Palestine,” the very model for other mothers to emulate. She raised six sons, and every single one managed to murder Israelis. What a record of maternal achievement! Latifah Abu Hmeid raised her boys the right way. We Palestinians are all so proud of her!

Meanwhile, at the Barzilai Hospital, and the Ichilov Hospital, and the Hadassah Hospital, Israeli doctors and nurses every day treat with the utmost care and professionalism many Palestinian patients, including those who have, like Nasser Abu Hmeid, murdered Israelis.

There’s a moral here somewhere. It has to do with a world where Israel is condemned and Palestinian terrorists honored, and what will in the end prevail — savagery, or civilization?
