Mexico President Accuses “Biden” Admin Of Financing ‘Coup Plotters’ Group

Mexico President Accuses Biden Admin Of Financing Anti-Corruption ‘Coup Plotters’ Group

By: Martin Walsh, Conservative Brief, May 10, 2021:

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has lambasted the Biden administration for U.S. financing of an anti-corruption group in the country after a bilateral meeting with Vice President Harris on Friday.

Obrador alleged that the U.S. is financially supporting a group called Mexicans Against Corruption and Impunity, a group of “coup plotters” that he claims are trying to undermine and overthrow the government.

“A foreign government cannot give money to political groups in another country. Our constitution forbids it,” said López Obrador.

“It’s treason,” he then added. “It’s meddling, it’s interventionism and it’s promoting coup-plotting.”

He was describing funding that includes money from the U.S. Agency for International Development, commonly known as USAID, as an affront to Mexico’s sovereignty.

“That’s why we’re asking that (the U.S. government) clarifies this for us. A foreign government can’t provide money to political groups.”

“To define coup-plotting, it’s not necessarily about the use of arms or the army. Coup-plotting is a movement that gestates that can be consummated by the army or the military, but conditions to enact a coup are created with the support of foreign governments, the media, what happened when the coup against President Madero,” said Obrador, referring to the events that detonated the military phase of the Mexican Revolution in 1913.

U.S. News reported:

Governments worldwide from India to Cuba have bristled against the funding of organizations they feel to be politically motivated by international foundations or the U.S. government.

In the one-page diplomatic note, reviewed by Reuters, the Mexican foreign ministry said it supported the “essential” work of civil society organizations and the corruption fight but said MCCI was a political actor.

The ministry asked the United States to consider suspending the funding.

Biden’s border crisis continues to get worse by the day.

Not long after Biden claimed the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border is “under control,” new data reveals that Biden could not be further from the truth.

Chief Patrol Chief Chris Clem tweeted that the Yuma Sector, which stretches across Arizona’s border with Mexico, apprehended over 1,600 illegal immigrants over the weekend.

And that is just at one major border sector. There are dozens more.

Last week, three Democrat senators criticized the Biden Administration’s handling of the border crisis.

Biden had already taken heat from Republicans for his lack of discussion about the border in his joint address

In an interview with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, Donald Trump said that Biden “did not discuss the border” and that “they are pouring into our countries by the thousands.”

Trump said the wall would have been completed if he had not been sued by Democrats in Congress again and again.

Biden was also criticized by Texas Sen. John Cornyn who was disappointed with the lack of attention Biden gave to the border crisis in his speech.

“I’m disappointed that the President didn’t address this in his speech last evening, and I was hoping he’d be willing to work with a bipartisan group of Senators and Congressmen who are eager to take action,” he said.

“The time to deal with this is now, but like I said until the Administration acknowledges that there’s a problem and that we need to work on it together, it’s going to get nothing but worse,” he said.
