Vice President Kamala Harris doubled-down on the Biden’s administration push to “transfer skilled workers” in the energy industry towards new sectors; bizarrely suggesting we “reclaim abandoned land mines” when referring to Coal Country.

Good luck powering a major city with anything but a fossil fuel powered boiler-turbine-generator!!! A nuclear reactor powering the boiler would be a viable option (such as they have in France or Canada), but nuclear is a dirty word here in the US, even though nuclear power generation is clean. Also Hillary sold our uranium to Russia, so the cost of nuclear fuel went way up.
Even figuring all the external costs of a coal-fired power plant into the economic analysis, it is still the cheapest method of generating electricity with oil and natural gas as close seconds. In fact, many fossil fuel,power plants are tri-fuel, so they can switch fuels to the cheapest. Solar and wind power generation cannot touch the economies, reliability or capacity of a fossil fuel power plant, and the only thing that keeps them afloat are government subsidies—tax dollars taken from Peter to pay Paul for Paul’s poor choice in energy.
The only thing that is cheaper than fossil fuel is a hydro plant, but all the good sites (Niagara Falls and Hoover Dam and the Grand Coolee Dam) are taken. The electrical output of the single ConEdison Ravenswood power plant, just north of the 59th Street Bridge in along Island City equals about 1/3 the combined electrical output of the Grand Coolee Dam’s many power plants, and it is minuscule in physical size in comparison to the hydro generation site.
Biden and his whore VP are idiots and/or they have idiots as advisors.

(4) The World War I Allies never did immediately send a naval expedition to Petrograd to easily topple Lenin & Bolshevik’s November 7, 1917 coup, thereby promptly returning Russia to the war, Russia’s involvement in the war being a critical variable for the Allies’ victory strategy against the Central Powers, proving (a) that the Allies knew they were going to win the war; (b) that the war was set up to (i) weaken the West’s influence in the world; (ii) weaken the West’s people’s confidence in their institutions and what those institutions stood for; and (c) one objective of the war was to settle into power the first above board Marxist state, with more to follow. In fact, there already was an anti-Marxist force in Russia at the time that if ordered would have conquered all of Bolshevik Russia during this period when the Bolsheviks were very weak. The unit was the 60,000 strong Czechoslovak Legion (soon to be 100,000 strong) but instead of sending the legion 700 miles north to Petrograd, the Allies sent it on a 6,000 mile odyssey across Russia to Vladivostok for evacuation to Europe(!), once again proving the Allies knew they were going to win the war…that the war was a Marxist operation.*

The major problem with “renewable” is that there MUST be a coal, oil, NG, nuclear, power plant all cycled-up and ready to switch in, at a moment’s notice, when the clouds come in, the sun goes down, the wind dies ….. HOW MUCH FUEL IS BEING WASTED TO KEEP THOSE POWER PLANTS IDLING AT HEAT so the greenie-weenies cam feel good about “renewables”.
What about the “down-stream” effects of removing the energy from the environment? The solar, and wind, energy has an effect on the environment – what happens when that energy is stripped away.
What about all the “fossil-fuel” used to make all the stuff necessary to harvest all the “free energy”? Last I knew, that has not been a single wind generator built that would provide enough ‘energy’ to provide for its own construction and maintenance … which is the “why” of all the subsidies.

Do you suppose she’s talking about soft coal strip mines? I know of one in the East Texas piney woods country they reclaimed so successfully that three years later you would not believe it was ever there.

Like the camel toe ho knows – right, now that they’ve raised the minimum wage to 15 an hour all those energy sector workers can now make a 1/3 of what they would’ve in their regular jobs china joe just took away from them.All the while paying significantly more for gas – I would not be surprised by summers end we are paying OVER 5 a gal for gas.
