Love To See It! NBA Christmas Day Ratings Tank ‘Massively’

91

Apparently NBA Commissioner Adam Silver does not understand that insulting much of the country is a terrible business practice. Look for NBA revenues to tank again in 2021. “The awful Christmas Day ratings strongly suggest that fans have neither forgotten the NBA’s business relationship with slave-labor loving China, nor the league’s hypocritical social justice stances of last season.”

Humbugged: NBA Christmas Day Ratings Tank ‘Massively’

Story continues below advertisement

By Breitbart, December 27, 2020

The NBA put its best and shiniest presents under the tree of the American television viewer on Christmas Day and America said, no thanks.

The NBA, which uses Christmas Day to showcase their best games and talent to jumpstart their season, had their gifts returned by viewers who were less than enthused.

According to DEADLINE Hollywood:

The National Basketball Association’s day-long celebration of sports led the demos, scoring a 1.1 and 3.74 million total audience for its hours-long programming for ABC and ESPN. That’s the good news – the bad news is that’s down massively from past performances. In a season where the NBA is trying to lure back fans who were turned off by last season’s overt politics and the less-stimulating bubble version of the sport, it shows there’s a lot of ground to make up.

ShowBuzz Daily reports that viewership for the Lakers-Mavs game peaked at 3.959 million. As a point of comparison, last year’s Christmas Day headlining matchup between the Lakers and Clippers averaged just under seven million.

Needless to say, that’s a humbling result for the NBA.

That poor performance reverses what had been a strong opening showing for the league during their first week back.

As Breitbart Sportss reported:

Notably absent from the Association’s Opening Night games was the dramatic and obvious social justice messaging on the court and uniforms. It also appears as though many players stood for the national anthem.

In the aftermath of the death of George Floyd, the NBA cloaked their summer restart with all types of social justice messaging. The courts at the NBA ‘bubble’ in Orlando had Black Lives Matter written on them, and the players wore jerseys with personalized social justice messages.

The awful Christmas Day ratings strongly suggest that fans have neither forgotten the NBA’s business relationship with slave-labor loving China, nor the league’s hypocritical social justice stances of last season.

Have these brilliant basket ball players realized yet, they are being played?
If ratings keep tanking so will their inflated salaries! They will be out of work!

If they have ANY brains they’d be distancing themselves from politically correct crap and China!

Maybe they can give up their millions for a life of labour among the proletariat of Communist China or the DPRK.
After all, the DPRK is self-described (from their official website) as:

‘The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is a genuine workers’ state
in which all the people are completely liberated from exploitation and
oppression. The workers, peasants, soldiers and intellectuals are the
true masters of their destiny and are in a unique position to defend
their interests.’

Who can argue with that kinda marketing?

I don’t get the NHL channel anymore. They took it away the last time I renewed my cable package. I don’t need to see the Flyers constantly losing 1 goal games. They used to make something called a media guide for all the hockey teams. The Flyers stopped making one about 10 or more years ago. I used to buy it every year. Now I have no clue who everyone on the roster is unless I look it up. Bruins fan, eh? I consider Ratelle, Park and Zanussi for Esposito and Vadnais one of the biggest steals of all time. That trade led to Middleton for Hodge, and that was a doozy for the Bruins.

I was 9 going on 10 years old growing up just north of Boston when Bobby Orr scored…”The Goal”. So yes…a proud, life-long Bruins and hockey fan. Those trades made the Bruins back then. These days, the minute a player wants more $$ from the Bruins, they are traded away, or they leave….most recent example, Torey Krug.

I’ll watch this year, but just like last year’s “playoffs”….it just won’t be the same.

Bobby Orr really was amazing. Way back then, they had famous “Hockey Lines” and they used to have names, and the same 3 people would play out there at the same time almost all the time. Cashman, Esposito and Hodge were the big line for Boston. My Flyers had Barber, Clarke and Leach. I think the Canadians had Lafleur, Beliveau(I think later Lemaire) and Shutt. Buffalo had Robert, Perrault and Martin. They really don’t have things like that anymore.

For years after Orr retired, the Boston TV station WSBK-TV that aired the Bruins’ games would show at least a few times per season a highlight clip of all things Orr, set to Streisand’s “Memories”. The clip showcased Orr killing a 2-minute penalty all by himself, skating all over the place, the other team trying in vain to take the puck away. Memories, indeed,

Now THAT was some hockey back then, with those teams/those lines !!! The Bruins top line these days of Bergeron, Marchand and Pastrnak is arguably the best in hockey, in my totally biased opinion, of course !!!

All these communists millionaires should move to China and leave America. The caveat being to renounce their American citizenship and never return. They can take all the treasonous Hollywood celebrities and scum with them.

We Americans need to use our power and reject those who denigrate our great Nation. We have the power of turning the channel and not watching or paying those who have no appreciation of their audience. I have turned off Foxnews. They can go to hell. I will get my news from the internet and other sources.

Stop supporting the enemies of our great Nation! America has nothing to be ashamed of. We are the greatest force of good in the world EVER.

Used to love watching basketball, until the mouth Steve Kerr and his flunky Steffi Curry made their political views known. They were trained by Popovich and Don Nelson. Curry the biggest fake hypocrite of them all pretending to be down with the fight when he knows dang well he is privileged growing up in the burbs in country club setting. Used to have season tickets to the Warriors during Run TMC. The old school players left their politics at home when they came to work. NBA can go to hell and make them suffer more by boycotting their sponsors. And make them suffer even more by contacting their sponsors and let them know you will bad mouth their product as long as they support the NBA. Try it pay back feels good.
