GOP anticipation builds ahead of Trump’s Georgia rally

By Fox News, December 5, 2020

With the Republican majority on the line in Georgia’s Senate runoffsPresident Trump returns to the campaign trail Saturday for the first time since last month’s presidential election.

On the eve of Trump’s trip, Vice President Mike Pence — in the Peach State for the second time since the kickoff of the twin Senate election showdowns — emphasized that “President Trump and I need David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler back in the Republican majority in the United States Senate.”

Loeffler and Perdue are the GOP candidates in the Jan. 5 elections, which will determine if Republicans hold the chamber or if the Democrats control both the House and Senate, as well as the White House.

While Pence is the most well-known so far in a slew of high-profile Republicans to parachute into Georgia in the past month, the biggest name of all returns Saturday. Trump will headline a rally at 7 p.m. ET at the airport in the southern Georgia city of Valdosta. The event will be carried live by Fox News Channel.

Ahead of his trip, the president tweeted that he’ll be holding “a big Trump Rally” for the GOP senators. He emphasized that they are “fantastic people who love their Country and love their State. We must work hard and be sure they win.”

For Republicans, there’s plenty of anticipation of the president’s visit — and trepidation over what he’ll say.

Ahead of the rally, Perdue tweeted that Trump “knows that NO ONE can sit this election out. It’s too important, and we MUST hold the line in the Senate. Looking forward to having him down in Georgia on Saturday!”

And on Thursday night at a televised town hall in Georgia on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” Perdue predicted that the president’s message would be that the best way to protect his achievements the past four years would be to get Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue reelected.”

Republicans desperately need Trump supporters to return to the polls a month from now, despite unfounded claims that there was widespread voter fraud in the Nov. 3 election.

The balance of power for the next Senate coming out of last month’s elections is 50 Republicans and 48 Democrats. That means Democrats must win both of Georgia’s runoffs to make it a 50-50 split Senate. If that occurs, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris would be the tie-breaking vote, giving her party a razor-thin majority in the chamber.

Huh?

Never mind…. Will they be using the same fraud voting machines too?

My guess is there will be a humongous turn out. Trump is a true patriot. His destiny is uncertain but he continues to stand up for us instead of hiding in the basement like Biden.

This is going to be hilarious. 2 minutes of telling people to vote for the two criminals currently running and 2 hours of crazy conspiracy nonsense. We are loving all this!

Off topic – as you are distracted with the outcome of the election ….

Look how quickly DEMS can move on issues they like – legalizing illegal drugs that in this situation literally dumb you down – just the way they like you. Anything that trashes our country or people are number one priorities with the DEMS and some RINOS! How’s that economic stimulus bill going, Piglosi?

It was technically a bipartisan vote, with a humongous FIVE Republicans voting with the DEMS. (No mention of who the five Republican pot heads are.)

BUT pot dreams may be up in smoke: it’s very unlikely it will pass the Republican-controlled Senate. https://newsthud.com/just-in-democrat-controlled-house-votes-to-legalize-it-pass-legislation-to-decriminalize-marijuana/

IF the GOP keeps control of the Senate. If not, all hell will break loose and I am not kidding!

This bill decriminalizes marijuana.

Specifically, it removes marijuana from the list of scheduled substances under the Controlled Substances Act and eliminates criminal penalties for an individual who manufactures, distributes, or possesses marijuana.

The bill also makes other changes, including the following:

* replaces statutory references to marijuana and marihuana with cannabis,
requires the Bureau of Labor Statistics to regularly publish demographic data on cannabis * business owners and employees,
establishes a trust fund to support various programs and services for individuals and
businesses in communities impacted by the war on drugs,
* imposes a 5% tax on cannabis products and requires revenues to be deposited into the
trust fund,
* makes Small Business Administration loans and services available to entities that are
cannabis-related legitimate businesses or service providers,
* prohibits the denial of federal public benefits to a person on the basis of certain cannabis-
related conduct or convictions,
* prohibits the denial of benefits and protections under immigration laws on the basis of a
cannabis-related event (e.g., conduct or a conviction),
* establishes a process to expunge convictions and conduct sentencing review hearings
related to federal cannabis offenses, and
* directs the Government Accountability Office to study the societal impact of cannabis
legalization.

Here are the five Republicans.
Fox News was quick to highlight that.

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla.,
the only Republican co-sponsor on the bill, was backed by GOP
Reps. Brian Mast of Florida,
Denver Riggleman of Virginia,
Don Young of Alaska and
Tom McClintock of California.
